Last Update - June 12th?
Chronos the Defiler
So...who here thinks something big might be in the works? Or who thinks Anet is just getting lazy as !$@# and don't feel like balancing or doing...anything.
I'm hoping it is something big to keep players interests a bit longer...

We already know they're working on a major HoM overhaul. Probably that along with a skill balance with more PvE/PvP split. What we're waiting two (or more) weeks for is probably the former.
zelgadissan
Not to mention probably working on implementing the timed Dragon Festival quests.

3 things are known to be causing a little hold-up with the updates.
1. HoM revisions.
2. PvE/PvP skill updates *takes a while to figure out all the nerfs that occurred due to PvP in order to "fix" skills in PvE*
3. Dragon Festival (hopefully they will actually add some unannounced new stuff, but thats just wishful thinking).
There could also be other things going on but we don't know. Start the speculation!

the "big one" aka the last one that they "think" about to try and last there game updates untill gw's2 comes out. some new ha maps have been found in the gw's .dat file so it might be them as well as all the HoM reworkings ect ect
EroChrono
I guess they'll update thursday;
- Add the Dragon Festival Preparations
- June's mAT reward points
- July's Everlasting Tonic
- HoM revision
- Skills balances, perphaps a decision on the "we're looking in to SF"-note.

Sorry, I mean I wish... but that is highly doubtful. ANet has never been good about getting the mAT reward points to the players quickly. It probably won't come till the 2nd or 3rd week of July. The others are a good possibility though.

The next update is probably the HoM overhaul + a major skill balance.

They should tell us they are working on X and it will arrive in the near future so we have something to look forward to (X being something new).
The old wait and see bs doesnt cut it.

Well the Dragon fest wont be holding things up as they'll just be rolling out last years just with a new mask (I wouldnt hold my breathe for new quests).
I am thinking the HoM update and skill balance might not happen until after the dragon fest (got to analyse the mAT to see what they are going to nerf after all). :P

bah, theres been longer dry spells than this, and oddly they usually always tend to arrive round this time of year too.
Just went back to check up on this, the 1st July the game was out, only 2 updates total in that month, 1st on on July 13th (the one before that was on June 30th) and the other on the 22nd. Then if u go further in that year, look at October, the 1st update for October back then was on the 20th, with the last update in September being Sept 30. Theres another 2 week difference in December as well (Dec 1st to Dec 15). Thats just a lil 1st year history lesson for ya.

Dragon Festival will have the HoM update, after the mAT will be the skill update. So possibly both at the same time.
Calling it.
It'll be like when the Wintersday update came and added so much crap.

I wouldn't expect HoM update any sooner than a couple months from now. They need to get the 1 programmer to work exclusively on GW1 first...
They should just do a skill update now.

maybe at Anet they go outside more in the summer, which explains the historical slowdown of updates.
maybe some of this forums users could use some more time outside.......

So much dumb "WAHH the game is dying" crap. This is not the longest period of time the game has gone without an update. What exactly do you guys want... updates every other day? It's not like changing a skill is "new content" (and besides, if skill balances happened that quickly, they'd have no time to evaluate the effect of the update). They could probablly change a skill every day for a year if they wanted too (I doubt altering a couple of values for the damage or duration of a skill is THAT hard), but they choose not to in order to let us play the game without having to relearn it every time something is altered.
The fact that this program is stable enough to run without needing weekly updates to avoid crashes is a good thing.

I can see the HoM changes and the festival for this Thursday, but I don't see a possible skill change till the Thursday after... just a hunch...

ITT, people expect the same amount of updates as a subscription based game. Seriously, you people are too spoiled.
Zesbeer
i agree the next update is eather going to be a realy bigone that fixes the hom or it will be a small one that fixs bugs and sets the stage for the bigger one and the dragon fest
slowerpoke
I dont expect the "same amount of updates as a subscription based game" has. The yearly paid for campaign provided plenty of content to keep us busy.
EotN will have been out a year in August.

HoM isn't a large update, they're just making it seem that way. I imagine it will be far sooner than later, but you know how it goes with Anet...they're bad at everything, and have all their staff making GW2.
Wouldn't surprise me if the update came next year.

Same, I think they nxt update will probably come with July 4h event. Lots of changes on the way.

The two biggest things I'm expecting ANet to do soon is make decisions on what to do with Ursan and perma-SF. Last time I seriously read something that the devs wrote, Regina said something like, "We don't know how much we can touch those skills, because we know that they affect a great deal of the playerbase."
Unfortunately, I don't figure ANet will do anything with the game in the next week besides open up the Dragon Festival.

Some people......
QQ when updates arrive and they don't like what's been altered, QQ when no updates arrive and they don't like the status quo.
QQ just out of general principal because others are doing it.
Me, I'm happy enough with what I've got - a reasonably fun game that's stable and playable in short bursts or in hour long chunks.
The updates will come along when they are ready

I'm still holding out hope for that Xunlai Marketplace that was found in the .dat. With GW2 still at least two to three years away there's plenty of time to still implement it. *hint hint anet*

Amazing how everyone thinks that the ground is going to open up and swallow them up whole because they don't get an update on demand every week.

Maybe the dev's couldn't find any interesting or gamebreaking to update.

Anet is busy testing a change in the GvG system for those elitist PvPers. It makes me sad that Anet clearly ignores us PvErs and greatly favors those people who play PvP.
On a side note, Diablo 3 got announced.

I wouldn't expect anything except the festival until 2nd-3rd week of july tbh.
That seems to be when they hand out rp's for predictions and they have a knack of combining it with everything else.

I personally like the Perma-sin. Plenty of ectos for me. However, you see way too many A/E's running around.
As for the update, I just hope the mask is different for the festival.
You can't expect Anet to hop onto everything...everything has to be thoroughly tested.
