I would like to BUMP this because I'm really waiting for this for more than a month now. DarkNecrid, will you update this or are you quitting this project?

Having just had a drive failure (corrupt MBR kills both drives in my RAID), I am quite interested in this project. I am trying to dull the pain of losing hundreds of handmade templates, and this is great. The well organized structure is perfect. Well done, and I am hoping for updates to this projects. (code corrections, team builds, more inclusive lists of popular farming builds).

Thx! - One thing i found bit annoying was the GREAT Part at the end but the folder was very nice, i just added the Pvp stuff so when i press Load i just get AB-CM-Gvg etc

In other news, I plan on getting a new release out soon after this month's balance update. Considering we've gone through 2 big functionality updates since I made this, I'm gonna call it v2.0. This is still going to be "great" builds only at the moment, but it will give you a list of updated meta builds since January 08, 2009 (assuming that is the day they update)
Unfortunately, with the meta having shifted so largely, this means to get fully up to date with this version users will have to delete their current template folders gotten from UTP1.0. Since this update is coming this Thursday, I recommend you Copy & Paste all your user added templates (ones you have personally saved) to a safe spot of your choice to add in when UTP2.0 comes out. 2.0 is going to include a folder JUST FOR user templates, which means later additions of this project won't need you to do this. Awesome? Awesome. Other misc. changes will be occurring too, and there will be more info on that when 2.0 is out.
After 2.0, I plan on releasing a minor update (2.1) that will include any meta builds that occur from changes in that update that might have been missed in 2.0 if any (otherwise there won't be a 2.1). Thanks for the compliments etc, everyone. I'm glad people enjoy this!

I am pleased to announce, just in time for the Arena Weekend, that the Ultimate Template Project v2.0 is now released. Download link can be found in the Opening Post as well as instructions for updating your Skills folder to the new version for users who used v1.0/1.1.
Changes in this version include:
-Fully updated with the meta in both modes as of January 9th, 2009.
-There is a new User folder. Users of the project are encouraged to place their own templates etc in this folder. This will preserve them in future updates to the project, making it easier for the user.
-Farming & Running & Team builds have been removed from the PvE section. Feedback from users has shown that not many people used these, and they weren't conducive to how the project is currently implemented. Farmers and Runners already know their builds and new farmers and runners will search other places for builds & instructions, so both of these types of people are encouraged to place their builds in the new User section.
-A small organization change: Builds that were previously just a primary profession, now have an X for secondary, to represent "Variable" or "Any". (Example: W Cleaver is now W X Cleaver.)

Wow, I've been waiting for the big update for ages. But the link doesn't work for me. Thanks alot DarkNecrid, finally some organisation in my builds. Was too lazy to CTRL+C CTRL+V all the PvXwiki-builds, thanks alot. I'm quite sad you removed the farming section though :/.

Also I removed the Farming section mostly because it's unwieldy and all the feedback I got said the same. If you don't know the farm you have to go into the templates folder for instructions, it's much easier just to find the template WITH instructions outside. There's not a lot of new farms/runs coming out with no new content, so most farms are known already and 1 or 2 new ones might come out rarely (like HB Raptor Farm). I have a problem with the templates or something. I have recently bought a new computer and when i tried to move my old templates to the new computer, they doesn't seem to excist ingame tho they are in the right spot,"C/GuildWars/Templates/Skills..etc.etc..". The only builds showing is some builds i have added manually.
And when i tried this you have created its the same thing..
Not sure i'f you'll understand what my problem is, let me know if i should post some screens or something. And dunno if this is the right place to post aswell, u guys just seem to have great knowlege about stuff like this

You said new computer, it is probably Windows Vista, in Vista, Skill templates go to: C:/users/[username here]/Documents/Guild Wars/Templates/Skills

Then you just open the .rar, and follow the instructions in the Opening Post for Windows XP.

Every time I go to Explore-->All Users-->Start--->Programs--->Guild Wars, all I get is the game file and my .dat stuff.

Just create a folder called "Templates" (without quotes) and inside it place the Skills folder.

You don't have to buy WinRAR, after its 30 days or whatever it will just pop up a message every time you open it, but you can just keep using the evaluation version just fine.
