Coming back to GW

So im comeing back to GW today and was thinking of what builds from the very 1st GW game can compete in a derv and para world?
I want to play though the game again as i only have GW and no expansions but what class/build can i use to pvp with that wont suck?

Any Pro! Pretty sure builds from the beging of GW are not around anymore so just wiki read and check in the forums on pvp builds. Oh and there is only one expansion. All others are stand alone.

It's hard to compete in PvP without other campaigns. If you don't want to buy additional campaigns and only PvP you could check the gwstore for skill-sets.

Here is a list that has a couple of builds for Prophecies only. But be warned that most of the PvE world is currently about overpowered PvE only skills that were introduced with Eye of the North.

Anyone help me out when i start playing today? in about a hour? not asking for items and runs just basic info on the game.Do people still run UW for ectos with the 55/ss combo or is that gone?

and so what im hearing is that if i try to make a pvp char with only the first game ill get destroyed?

yes monk/nec duos still run UW, tho you see more 600 smiter monks than 55's nowadays

Yes, I'd say you're pretty outclassed versus most builds that are running around in PvP.

People still do some 55/ss UW farming but at the moment an assassin can farm ecto's more easily. Many people ask for this assassin build to be nerfed because it can earn average 4-8 ecto's every 30min. Hence why I think that there is only a small amount of 55/ss farmers around.

If you wish to play fullruns in UW and FoW you should know that Ursan-way is called after the skill Ursan Blessing from Eye of the North. It allows pretty much every class to become very powerful with attacks that can't be blocked, give knockdown, boost attacks and increase defense. It rules most PvE elite area's. With Prophecies skills only you won't be able to join these groups if they are PuGs.
