Friend locations on the friend list

First of all, I searched "friend" and I didn't see this suggested yet. Or maybe I wasn't reading carefully enough.

So my idea is that you can click on someone on your friend list and it tells you where your friend is. That way, you can see your friends list and see what everyone is up to.

It will not display the district that you are in and from here I have 2 ideas to stop "stalking":
1. People that add you to their friends list will have to wait 24 or 48 hours before they can see your location.
2. Option to choose to display your location or not.
3. Mutual agreement.

also a good idea if they are in an elite area so you know not to disturb them

I guess you can have an option to not display where you are when people see you on their friends list. Who cares if this isn't WoW?

Devs already don't spend much time on GW1 (I heard only 2 devs work on GW1, and they most likely will ignore most of the ideas in this forum). Also, with my suggestion, you don't need to whisper them to know.

i no the devs dont spend much time on gw so the time they do spend should be on something that matters not something thats kind of kool but completely unnessary

Is it that hard to just ask them? I know a lot of annoying people in the game that would love to find me and pester me or know if I am faking my afkness or not. I'd rather be left alone by some people at times.

The problem with this is that even if you're ignoring someone, they can still add you to their friends list and find you, then run around doing stupid emotes. Not a good idea.

No thanks. I have a hard enough time dodging my hordes of adoring fans without them being able to see where I am at all times.

If you want to know what your "friends" are up to ask them.
Otherwise you are just asking for a stalking mechanism (ie add a random person in your list and follow him around).

Ok, I added 2 anti-stalk mechanisms in the main post.
Thank you for your criticism.

While a nice idea, I don't see the need. If my friends are online, I can just ask them what they're up to. If they say they're in doing something like an elite area or something, I won't bother them for a while. If we want to get together and do something, we just pm. And I like my space as well. But the option to show it or not that you put there would be good if something like this was actually done.

If they add a way to allow that for example, only if both agree, sure. But that's just to add someone and track him like that.

You can turn off your location tracking.

I wouldnt want to know people are trying to stalk me in the first place so I would deny all stalking requests. The majority will /notsign this and the minority who want it /signed could just send a pm to the person they want to stalk.

It'd be pretty cool to have a feature like that. Contrary to "popular" belief, I know a lot of people who wouldn't mind being surprised by people. I'm going to assume all the nay-sayers didn't bother to read the part about location-tracking being consensual. In truth, most people that "not signed" are just trolling for attention by pretending to have "adoring fans".

I can't help but notice that some people left their character names (AND A WEBSITE!) up for all to see. How desperate you all must be for attention. I think I'll pester you all incessantly in-game.

BTW, that was sarcasm. I have no desire to socialize with basement moles.
