Ectos at trader are 5.5k... wait, what?!

I know about the big SF nerf, but I'm shocked to find the prices up so quickly. Did ANet reset the prices manually, or is this player involvement?

I'd guess player involvement; I know if I had the access at the time I would've put every plat I own into ectos from the trader knowing that they'd go up in a matter of days. Apparently it was hours.

I am pretty sure the rise in ecto prices is real, I know of a few people who rushed to the Trader and bought a stack of ectos the min they got news of the nerf.

People bought a pile of ectos from the trader b/c of the news of the update. that's why.

Ughh, I sold all my ectos (58) yesterday thinking I would have time to buy more before the nerf came....

It's a player driven jump. As soon as the word got out that SF was getting hit today, and the fact that favor was running low (or are we out now?), lots of people saw that ecto had hit bottom and thought it was time to invest in it, hoping to make a nice profit later.

I wouldn't expect it to go much over 6k tho, since there are so many ectos sitting around in people's storage and the higher the price goes, the fewer people will be investing in it. Besides, before the SF farm-fest, ecto was running between 6 & 7k for a long time.

EDIT: I posted this before seeing the thread about us having 30k minutes of favor. Now that they gave us back most of the favor we lost in January, I still feel that 6k is about where it's gonna level out at.

price fixing i looked they where 4.9k 5 seconds later 5.5k

yeah, almost positive it's price fixing too. any other vendor (see the recent sup shadow runes for example) run out of stock fairly quickly if there is a massive amount of people buying them. the price itself doesn't go up for days/weeks.

thnk god ecto are vauble agian the only probelm is that assassins are prety much worthless now
