worth to salvage?

should i salvage the mods of weapons i get?
because last time i found a fiery sword, and my guild leader told me it wasn't worth it to salvage, so i merched it.
today i found out i want to go w/e and use conjure fire so i went to la to buy a hilt, and i found a trader that was selling for 1k....
so im thinking that i should've salvaged all those icy, shocking, fiery hilts.
what do you guys think?

I usually leave them on the weapon and merch them. The room required to save them via salvaging isn't worth the small chance of finding someone looking for that specific mod just for 1000 gold.

Only salvage max mods, that is a for sure. Whether you salvage or not is really up to you. If you think you can stand in a town for endless hours trying to sell mods, go ahead. If not, don't. Unless, you think you may need them in the future.

I normally salvage max mods and keep them on a storage cgaracter.
But also, if it helps, that fire damage hilt could not have been taken from the firey dragon sword anyway. Its a fixed mod on the wep.

Elemental mods are worth slavaging if you run any kinda conjure build and you have enough space in storage. Other than that only salvage perefct mods, especially fortitude and sudering, although zealous is also hot due to UB.

Generally speaking, it's not worth salvaging the more common mods like Fiery, Poisonous, Icy, etc., unless you know you will have a use for them. It's simpler and takes less storage space to just pay the 1k when you need it.
Some mods, however, are more desirable and worth more, so you should consider salvaging them. Check out the Weapon Modifier Baseline Pricing here:

I also try to keep an Icy on hand for sword and axe, I find those sell decently. Zealous is a good seller lately on daggers.

+20% Enchantment duration, 20% 1/2 cast and 1/2 recharge mods are also pretty sought after.
