Yes, this is for finishing the mission, for those who don't normally read the topic.
Thanks to the folk here, I managed to grab my first clear of this blasted Challenge Mission (on Normal, too shy to even try it on HM) using a Dragon Slash warrior build (no Save Yourself though) plus a 3-necro Sabway setup. Still kind of conditional in some instances, and the Destroyer of Lives wave still messes up my tactics, but at least now what to do and where to flag heroes and henchment. Now I have a different question I'd like to ask.
Since I've managed to dig up my friend Myssa Graysword/Armisael Shinigami (we're both Primary warriors), I've asked him to help me with the mission (since he wanted to try it too)... The end result being, of course, us getting overwhelmed on the first wave. Why? Well, the one doing the Right gate on wave 1 does well, but the poor sod trying to defend the left gate normally gets overwhelmed, leaving the dragon open for attack. We've tried switching places, and the result is usually the same.
Now I was wondering what would be the best skills for heroes to bring, ESPECIALLY for that side. I know, I know, we should also think for the later waves, but this is a stumbling block, and I'd rather have this taken care of, THEN we can start worrying about the next waves.
I've gotten used to the Sabway henchmen, so it's usually me that brings the tri-necromancers. However, I heard that I could easily swap out one of them to help with defense...
Any ideas? Remember, this is for a two-man team of sort-of casual players.

Blind. Lots of blind.
Some [[epidemic] action.
Minion Bomber.
If you're playing as warrior perhaps take along some [[Splinter Weapon] to use with [[Triple Chop] / [[Cyclone Axe] / [[Whirlwind Attack] / [[Crude Swing]

I have done this mission about 5-6 times with a 2 person group with heroes. The other person is an Assassin with Sabway set up normally. Since I do not have all the skills for Sabway, I usually run Livia as an MM similar to the Sabway MM, along with Jora, and Ogden. Jora is just set up to do damage, no particular build and Ogden as a healer with Word of Healing. I am a ranger and run a barrage/interrupt build.
On the first round we both stay near the bottom and fight back to back. The Assassin takes the left side and I take the right. As good as the Sabway is, my side is usually the survivor. In fact I had to go res the Sin after the first wave once.
We stay in the same set up for the following rounds, with the Sin and Sabway heading back to protect the Dragon when needed.
Using this set up, we have only not completed the mission 1 time which was our first time.
I know some may think two MM is too much, but on this mission there are so many corpses, that it can easily support 2 MMs. Truly I think it is the two MMs that allow for this build to work out.
I apologize that I cannot give our actual build, but I have not figure out the build creator function quite yet.
Good luck
