server vs territory question

ok, so before they removed territorial favor i changed my acct from american over to euro to farm uw/fow etc.
after they removed these territorial restrictions, i still get listed as euro, (in tombs/ha) even if i play in american districts

my question: since im listed as euro, does that mean im connected to euro servers? but since anet logs your ip anyways, shouldnt they automatically connect you to the closest/fastest server for you?

None of us are really privy to how ANet routes things. That being said:

I'd say you're connected to the Euro servers by default. But if you switch to American districts, you're on the American servers. The only thing the switch did was allow more people to play on different servers, mostly the Asian servers.

Basically, whatever district you're in, that's the server you're playing on.
