If the computer was 400 dollars, I highly doubt that it'll even run Guild Wars on the lowest settings... but more specs would be needed to truely judge whether or not you would be able to play
Elder III
we need to know the video card......... when I first started playing GW I was using a desktop with 512RAM and it was ok, but the integrated graphics were not cutting it. The card wasn't even on the supported list but with some monkeying around and a couple patches I was able to play with it. There are some very talented people on these forums that can probably get it to work for you if you explain the problems and specs clearly.

It runs on my 256RAM laptop, but it's laggy as all hell. my old 512MB played it with a little bit of lag, but nothing that made it unplayable.

I think the computer will have a 1.4 GhZ procy, thinking most computers today advertise their processors
Video card might just be a GeForce 4 or so, highest will be a 6800, though I reallz doubt it, thinking a 256 mb ram comp can run, or a comp with inegrated graphx can run it, I think ill be able to run it at low setting without lag...
Im going out to pick up another copy of Nightfall now with my friend, we gotta walk like 4 kilometers cuz as u can see, im a kid without a drivers license, ill prolly also pick up Factions or EotN, the cheaper one...
Thx yall, Ill report back once I got the specs down.
Ill be on tuesday if everything goes well, and ill be on all summer and after summer im getting a 3gb ram laptop with 2.,4 ghz procy and a geforce 8600 GT, 256 mb memory, for just 1300 bucks...maybe less...
allrite thx and ill report back

1Ghz CPU and a 32Mb GeForce 3200 on a 512 RAM comp ran GW. Had to stay away from crowded districts and it got laggy in big battles, but with low graphics, it was playable. Not PvP, though.
Was very glad when I finally got my new comp ^_^

Anyone who has been using PC for a while knows that its pretty amazing what you can get for $400 these days.
GW is not a high spec game and I could play pve happily on my old amd 1800.
It had a decrepit 128 meg ti4800 graphics card and an equally aged Soundblaster card.
The current crop of onboard stuff can equal that spec and more.
Of course its a festival weekend and you can expect periods of lag so its not a fair test.

Well you could go here : http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest
and select Guild Wars from the list (it will show you if you can run Guild Wars or not and will also show you some specs (Processor Speed / Ram / Videocard etc.)
Hopefully that's what you wanted to know
Cheers

if you have access to the computer, go to start-->run and type dxdiag. it will tell you everything you really need about the computer.
