If you could go back in time..
Holly Herro
If you could go back in time to the release of Guild Wars, and show people that created Guild wars, what would they be? I'd show them:
1. All of eye of the north
2. The current economy
3. All the farming builds/locations.
*Puts on flame suit* Those are my opinions.

willypiggy
1. The current economy
2. The skills which get overpowered (This includes SF and Ursan)
3. EotN (I really didn't like it as much as Factions/Nightfall)

DarklingKiller
I'd show them Ursan. They'd say ohhhhhhhh we'd never put an overpowered skill into the game without nerfing it to oblivion when everyone realizes it's true potential and turn our game into grind > skill. Oh wait, that's what they did say and now we have Ursan.
tezza151
i'd show them eotn and say to them make all the cutscenes like these ones
Gift3d
I'd show them this thread and say keep up the good work.
I Dont Do Coke
1. Grind
2. Balance
3. Grind and Balance
2. Balance
3. Grind and Balance
Darkobra
PvE only skills.
A rare material being used as a form of currency for worthless crap.
Any other obvious stupid decision made that have pretty much desecrated their Valhalla.
And now I have the song "If you could turn back time..." in my head.

1. Titles (Specifically, Zaishen, so that they could have stopped it being a buyable title)
2. Touch Rangers, Escape Scythes, SoM mesmers (See: cancers killing RA/AB)
3. The cult of Gwen (Her fans)

The plans for my time machine
Sir Owns Alot EP
Titles. I'd definatley show them titles so that they would never be implemented.
MithranArkanere
1. Current PvP/PvE item system (Insignia/Inscriptions), end-chests, lockpicks, etc...
2. Heroes.
3. Character slots so people won't have bought more than one account.
4. A compendium on why everything should have been account-based from the start.
5. An essay on why all campaigns should have added similar things, o Prophecies would have also its two exclusive professions, all professions would have the same number of skills, all would have end-credits area from the start, challenges, etc...
2. Heroes.

1- Grinding in all of its forms
2-Nightfall and EotN power creep (Paragon and Ursan mostly)
3- Super farms.
4-Izzy´s dead performed by the angry PvP community....or maybe not

also addition professions from factions / NF....as these (especially para) are so overpowered compared to the original ones...IMO anyway...no QQ plz
these professions never really added anything to the game other than buggering the economy *cough 'sin SF cough*

1) The user statistics of how many players play now exclusively PvE or PvP, so that they don´t get that delusion of players stopping PvE and starting PvP.
2) EotN: So that all the missions are finishable, even if you got a complete party wipe.
3) The overall positive reaction to the Diablo3 announcement, so that they realize "skill>time" is not better than getting useful rewards, like better equipment.

I'd show them the lists, and lists of skill balances, and the eventual, and late, decision to split pvp and pve balancing.
I'd also show them how lazy they got with EOTN armour, doing nothing but reskins.

Lawnmower
The bitterness in this thread is staggering. It's not like Guild Wars has changed significantly since it's release. It's still very much the same game.
Don't let the nostalgia and thoughts of the "good old times" confuse you with the harsh facts of reality.
Games get old, people grow older and becomes interested in different things. There does not have to be a reason for GW not being as fun for some of you as it was in the past. It just is. Textures, Music, art style and gameplay always becomes mundane over time if taken in big enough doses.
Making claims that it's economy, certain skill nerfs and so on, only confirms that your kidding yourself into finding faults for your lack of interest. Time to move on, take a break, and do something else.

If I could go back in time, I wouldn't be bother with guild wars ....
Absolute Destiny
I'd go back and stop 9/11........
OH! For the game?
1. Stop EoTN from ever being made, and have Nightfall be the crossover.
2. Make every campaign like Prophecies, except that you reach Lv20 waaay earlier...but have the same amount of exploration and landscape/plot diversity.
3. Give Prophecies two exclusive professions.
4. Add a time portal to post-Searing Ascalon, so we can all go back and visit the original starter area (like we can in Factions and Nightfall).

Traveller
I don't care about developers, but I would told myself to pick up GW collector's edition asap, to create 6 characters on release day (with sensible names and faces this time) and focus on one main character instead of 10.
kostolomac
Congratulate myself for finding such a good game. And advise myself to start playing even sooner.
Kwith
1. Factions
2. Nightfall
3. Explain that there is nothing wrong with the games themselves, just I was more interested in finding out more about the Charr and Mursaat.
Its good to know where the Titans came from, so NF kind of ties into the whole thing, but Factions storyline-wise was a detour off the path completely.
It would have been cool to have the charr invading Cantha. (This could have been done easily, I mean with Tyria being a planet, then Cantha has to connect somewhere right? If you keep heading North, would you not run into Cantha?) I'm sure some Charr groups would have headed North.
This would explain how the Charr got ritualists in their ranks.

I would show them that their game has little longevity, and to make it last longer they added optional grind. Actually, the grind free game has turned into a game where all that is left to do is "optional grind".
GW2 needs more real content, their current system of progression reeks of smelly progressquest style.

Kusandaa
I'd show ANet the forums and all the QQ their game creates .
Seriously though...
- I'd have stopped deleting characters.
- I'd have gotten into farming earlier.
- Would have never touched GvG. ('Cause I don't play this game to argue with guys over ranks, seriously).
I think that's all for now. I don't have a lot of regrets on this game.

Fragile Feeling
I wish I had played earlier too, so many cool events and historic moments in guild wars happened in like 05/06, when i joined in like october 07
Bryant Again
I'd bring back Ursan Blessing and suggest it as a new skill, then sigh sadly as they laugh at how stupid it sounds.

As for my characters, I'll prevent myself from making my deleted 6th character... a Dervish named Giovanni Cervantes. That was 40k down the drain.
2) Hard Mode.
romeus petrus
1) Titles

I would advise myself to spend less time on my Necro and characters no longer alive. Oh, and after EotN to jump over to a better game.
toastgodsupreme
I'd stock up on anything that would go up in price, sell everything that would drop, and play the economy like it's my bitch. =P

Also:
1. Inscriptions (in the hopes they implement these from day 1)
2. Heroes (the same. Mhenlo and Co. should have been our heroes all along...)
MirkoTeran
