Event Mask/Hats in HoM
majikmajikmajik
why not? i think it wouldnt be a bad idea i mean we already have a festival hat trader to remake them for characters, why not relive those moments in gw2 as your wearing one of the masks. i understand that they would have to add an area or expand the armor one but i just think it would be cool.
Lawrence Chang
I honestly wouldn't care. But there are ALOT of things that Anet has elft out of the HoM that would be more appropriate.
Kerwyn Nasilan
There are lot of better things that could be added, plus there would be lots of QQ about how you cant get older masks.
Elite God
Haha, that'd be cool, but you know whats wrong with it?
You would need to increase the HoM size,
Oh noez that takes time!
"GW2 Please Wait"

No. Not many people wear hats except on the holidays anyways, any then they just go afk or something.
With a waste of time that would put, thats already dumb, but if they tied these to the elite skills or heroes that theyre rumoring to implement then this would be an EPIC FAIL.

there's more important things to do, but I say
/signed on the condition that there's some way to get the older hats. Everything else if available to everyone, why not the older party hats. All the new ones suck. Every halloween should have a pumpkin mask, every wintersday should have a santa hat. You'd have to add the everlasting tonics too. Which opens up a whole nother can of worms.

Ya I want my old pumpkin hat in there. If you don't have the old hats then who cares?

No, the HoM is meant to tie gw1 and gw2 together for old players. The hats are in no way associated with the lore, and don't even carry much of a value in the current game.
Gw2 is a new game, and I would be so appauled if the same hats are in it from gw1. The HoM is meant for the "bare essentials" (even though I personally fail to see how minipets meets this) and festival hats are just that and nothing more.

Of course the festival hats have a lot of value, otherwise there would be no point in making them, and and no point in hyping them as the main feature of events in which a new one is provided (as they are always done).
HoM is not meant for the "bare essentials". HoM is meant to bridge and transfer over as much of the players' characters as possible from GW1 to GW2 so that all the time the & energy they invested in GW1 doesn't go to waste and gets preserved in GW2. Festival hats are a really big part of that. There is no reason not to put them in HoM.
It sounds like some people who don't have all the old hats just don't want them in HoM because they want the others who do have the old hats to not have them in GW2. But that's not fair. Those who had the dedication and have been playing long enough to have the old hats shouldn't be penalized just because not everyone has them. The whole point of the hats are a reward for those who are dedicated and long-time players enough to have been there to get them.

would be annoying if they did add them, as i had every single mask, and item from specail events on a mule. i then delted a few weeks ago because i didnt see the point of having them...

I also think it would be nice to have a way to bring the old masks over to GW2, therfore there are some under, which are way too nice looking, to simple waste them to not be some little content, that can be taken over to GW2 as little rewards for example of maxing one of the monuments and there it can be even then regardless if you were there on event x or not...
Just give us as reward for example of completign the HoM all previous GW1 Masks which we can the reproduce in GW2.
it would be a nice way to give us players a nice little reward, that has no gameplay advantages for the gw veterans over players, which start in GW2 completely new with GW2 beign their first GW Game

HoM is only for those who want GW2, and should be fillable whenever you started. If you want to fill it now, you exclude people that started playing later than say 2005. Problem! Besides, if you had a holiday, your internet crashed or someone killed your computer, you cannot undo that damage, never.
(oh, if HoM is extended, make sure my perfect r8 weapons can get in instead of the crappy r9 stuff i can put in now... they're not the best and greatest stuff, so well... )

The masks really don't appeal to me and I think they all look terrible.

It be cool, even if you could only see them in your HoM in GW2 (ie no benefit or anything)

If HoM gets any work done on it, there are more important things to consider.

Yes, there are other things which need to be done to the HoM first, but this seems like a good idea. It means that you can display them and then destroy them. I always just get the festy hats, show them to the keeper then destroy them.
Sweet Mystery
Oh god no...... the HoM is for achievements.... a stupid mask from some soooo simple quests or idling in a town is something for HoM? Get real....
Add stand-alone armor parts before even contemplating that.... oh that won't happen either...

HoM isnt just a place to display all your useless shit that no one else will see most likely. HoM is going to some how be linked to GW2 and if they dont have event masks linked then it makes no sense.

Great idea, putting a ghost of Ludor in the hall on the GW2 side would do it! Also why the heck doesn't collecting the hats effect the party animal title?

For example, randomly in Wintersday Gifts.

Well, actually I think that a festival hat HoM monument would in a way be a way to reward players for commitment. I mean, there are a limited number of people who have attended to all festival events and gone through the trouble of getting all the hats.
So, /signed, I guess.
