WARNING Dont let Anet steal your tokens!!
bigtime102
*SIGH*
Who knew afking in 9 rings isnt safe from the thieves that can loot your inventory and leave trash in its place.
For those of you that dont know if youre on 9 rings and you got stacks of tokens Anet will be stealing them from you evey 2 hours.
Yes I say stealing because for a normal business tranaction to take place A. one has to be aware of the deal. B. One has to agree to the deal. None of which took place.
This should be stickied so others dont make the same mistake. And in the future Id suggest Anet, if they must be stealing your tokens straight out of your inventory automatically, AT LEASTE TELL US ITS GOING TO HAPPEN and not make it some obscure piece of info we gotta search around for.
The lack of info in this years event (and all event for that matter) and all the noobs not knowing whats what including myself was a huge negative on an otherwise fun festival. No thanks to the WIKI nerds who point everyone to a damn website no one should have to rumage through which acts like a crutch for info that should easily displayed and understood IN GAME.
Thank you, youve been warned.

This is my first hat festival and I knew too that every hour the Emperor came and traded you a stack of tokens for a hat. All you need to do is read the notice on the GW website.
Why are you keeping several stacks on an AFK char anyway?

Witchblade
Anyway, roll one char and redo the quests to get your lost stack back
Besides, those new to this event will watch it and read when attending for the first time and the Kisu msg is pretty clear, as much as the fact that they will see the mask being added in their bag

Um, GW official website.
Just sayin'.
Just sayin'.

Lol.... It's your shortsightedness that ultimately caused you pain. Anet DID announce it...
Horus
and stealing would be if they took tokens and gave you nothing in this case they gave you a mask!
sunnyshine
Ive had the same thing happen but it was my own stupid fault for not checking that I had 250 in my inventory and putting them safely in the xunlai chest. It's pretty well publicised that this happens and, as it is an automatic exchange, you should expect it to happen if you are in Shing Jea with 250 VT at the time of the event.

As for the info:
http://www.guildwars.com/events/inga...nfestival2008/
Common... read that and tell me you can come to the conclusion that 250 tokens automatically will be taken out of your inventory every 2 hours while your afking on 9 rings.
Nick Of Troy
the Emperor will also present a gift to all who have proven their festival spirit by collecting 250 Victory Tokens throughout the weekend: a new demonic mask,
AND
Emperor Kisu will make scheduled appearances every two hours
To me this implies that every 2 hours, 250 tokens will be traded for a festival mask. I hate to say it but your inability to forsee that this would happen is no ones fault but your own. Raging about it and accusing Anet of banditry isn't going to get your tokens back. Witchblade had a good idea of getting back at least 240 of them

Me thinks you don't know how to read. It was posted on wiki, and on the official site when they ANNOUNCED the dragon festival. lmao!

It's always been like this. This stuff is very-old common knowledge. Others have had it happen to them too in years past which is why they know better now and always keep excess tokens in storage.
You are right though, it's a bad design to automatically take tokens from everyone's inventory without their permission, especially if they already have a mask in it. That should be fixed in an ideal world.

It's not actually stealing since the game and everything in it belongs to them anyway, you're just "borrowing" it.
the bourne hells
Its not like they even have in game reminders or a full even schedule.... lol, open your eyes and look.

LOL theres goes another stack, aparently if youre in just in the town they will automatically take your tokens not just afk'ing on 9 rings. No thanks to wiki, info like this should be in the game and easy to access, Wiki is not excuse for this. No one should have to rummage through a website to find out the rules of a game. It should be displayed IN GAME, and its not. Lesson learned, for me and hopefully for Anet too.
miskav
Always fun how A-net can ''steal'' something that already belongs to them.
