HoM - LDoA???
Rieden Sindefy
I have a perma pre that is close to obtaining LDoA. As far as my understanding, you have to manually insert titles in the HoM by character, no? I really want to keep my perma pre (with LDoA) as a perma pre only, but also be able to have LDoA in my HoM. Can someone shed some light on this situation, or is Anet done loving the pre-searing community? (charr bags/kits)
Thanks
Thanks

To have a HoM you have to actually go to the Eye of the North with each character and then earn your tapestry then you are able to add each title you have earned. Manually

Actually, this is very interesting question.
I too would very much perefer my LDoA stay in presear (It is special character - able to change secondaries, leaving presear would kinda kill its specialness.)

I would imagine you'd have to leave pre and go to the hall and insert your title. Sucks, but that's the way it is. UNLESS when they do the update that makes titles in the hom per account, MAYBE you can add it from a different toon. We'll see.

Any other insight? At all?
Catalyst
well like crazy said you might be able to put the title into your HoM with another character once the Account Based HoM update comes out. What I would do is leave your perma pre in Pre until after the update and just see what happens

It won't.

You could always make another LDoA character and take that into post-searing so you can put the title in HoM. It's only another load of afk-ing.
Bryant Again
I'd wait. You got like 2+ years until GW2 comes out, so there's not a whole lot to lose. Maybe they'll update it, you never know.
aTT!kus
yeah keep it in pre and just wait and see if anet is forcing you into the searing or not
miskav
xD I was wondering the same thing today, all I can say is wait till the HoM update.

Unfortunately, I don't see a technical possibility of them allowing raising a LDoA monument without leaving Pre and going to HoM, that is unless they do an exception for the PreSearing community and give them an alternative way of updating the Account-HoM without leaving Pre. For example a new NPC somewhere in pre Ascalon.
I would absolutely LOVE if they did that, Pre is a fantastic place I don't want to leave with my not yet LDoA girl.

I am the same way as many of you, I have a Perma Pre character that I plan to make into a LDoA, but I don't want him to leave Pre as it kind of messes things up for me, and I don't want to make him leave pre, then restart a new perma pre character, that is rather annoying.
I say the same as most people, wait for the update and see. If you want, you can even wait for GW2 to come out, or past, as the HoM won't "close off." You can even make a second LDoA if you really want it in your HoM.

Leave your perma-pre in pre and wait till GW2 comes out.
If you decide to play GW2, you might not mind leaving pre at that point.
It doesn't take long to get from pre to eotn, especially if you're level 20 allready.
On the other hand, the HoM statue for ldoa is quite nice ;-). It really is.

Slighty OT, but to correct.
First tapestry is given upon arrival, not earned.
The monument for title statues doesn't require a tapestry, the other 4 do.
I hope they add a solution for you all, don't have a pre char, but can see the charm in one.
Sweet Mystery
Anet are stating accomplishments by account... so I'd say wait.... you unlock the title on the account, it's best to see if that is then available. As stated you don't need a tapestry for titles, it's already unlocked and it know what you have....
Best bet is to wait and see.... then can decide later on what need to do..... hell even wait till see if the benefit on GW2 even worth it
Guess people with survivors who dont want the EOTN initial run will also be in the same boat... tho my L3 is already well on her way in GW:EN and has her statue.

I honestly don't believe ANet thought anyone would achieve that title, and then continue to be a lvl20 in Pre-searing.
You might contact one of their devs? ( or...Gail comes to mind.)
Miss Puddles
as it is right now, you would need to open your hom with that character to get the monument.
as mentioned, wait until the changes are implemented to leave pre. you may be able to stay there.

I doubt they will change it all there is in pre to do is get LDOA, anet wont change it just so people can stay there cos they like the attention. Depends how much you like being a bigfish in a small pond really.

Does bump work on this forum?

A real man would go and put in it their HoM, then make a new character and do it again.

The Hall of Monuments is a gimmick to get you to play Eye of the North. I don't think they'll make an exception for your perma-pre.
Bryant Again
They've made exceptions to the Torment weapons, so who knows what else they'll add. At least their showing concern for it, which is a good start.
Spazzer
Yeah, but you still have to have eotn and physically bring the torment weapons to the hall of monuments, you see.

A hippin anda hoppin and bippin anda bump in, cause I don't know what the jazz is all about, you see?

It's not that perma-pre characters are "no longer loved." I doubt aNet had fully considered this situation.
The way I see it, aNet has one of two options to choose from:
1) No, you must go HoM to input the LDoA title, or
2) Okay, we'll give you an alternative option (something along the lines of having HoM opened on/by other characters or thru an NPC).
I, personally, think it'd be against the consistency with the "rules of Tyria" that aNet has thusfar established in the game to allow perma-pre characters to "travel into the future" and unlock HoM without having truly traveled there. Nor do I see the point in staying in Pre-searing forever unless you have a habit of using that "big fish (in a little pond)" to impress and recruit new players for your guild; or if you just like helping new players.
I would recommend, however, keeping that player in Pre-searing until aNet does address this issue officially; because I don't want to read all the QQ threads by people who panicked and left Pre-searing prematurely.

Hmm time travel ftw .
I figure when my [future] LdoA character is complete, i'll probably just wait out in Pre until GW2 comes out. By then, i anticipate most people to have moved on, and no one really giving a crap about being in pre lol. Just my opinion, but who knows, maybe people will still want to play the old version of the game .

I enjoy presear's simplicity and scenery, and I enjoy living in an alternate, ectoless economy. Just my reasons.

So here's to hoping that HoM will be altered for the perma pres ^^ when does the update come out?
Nanood
What about a special Pre HOM hehe. A nice little stand for your pet and a stand for your favourite Gate Monkey. And somewhere to put the awesome purple you got. And if you could be bothered to run around to get that extra armor set then lets have a spot for that too !

Hmm... Are perma-pres the characters who died in the Searing (never moved on)? lol
