how do u get of of the starting island in factions

Well after you complete the Zen Daijun mission, attained by following the storyline, you can get off Shing Jea of Factions onto mainland Cantha.

One more bit of info

After you complete ZenDaijun you will be in Seitung harbor. You have to talk to a man on the dock there (1st mate Xiang) and get the next quest. Then you talk to him a second time and ask him to book passage to Kaineng City. I mention this cause I've seen a lot of new players confused about how to get to KC the first time after the mission.

It's Factions not Fractions.

Anyway, they have told you the answer already. After completing the Zen Daijun Mission, Master Togo will instruct you to ride a boat in Seitung. Then, you'll be in the main island already.
