Can only use english characters in Char name

I live in Europe but when I make a new char name I can ONLY use English characters, why can I not use asian characters etc..?

any ideas

North America, South America, and Europe may only use English letters. Japan can use Japanese and Taiwan can use Chinese.

All pet names must be in English.
