Here is my question:
I already have GW installed onto my desktop computer, but if I installed the same GW onto my laptop, will my friend be able to log into his own account on that laptop?
Thanks
EDIT: I forgot to mention the reason why I'm asking this. My friend wants to give me all his stuff on his account but does not have his computer with him. So will he and I be able to log onto our own seperate accounts under 1 CD-key so that we can trade?
Using 2 seperate accounts under 1 CD-Key

If he already has an account yes.
If not, no.
If not, no.

What you downloaded onto your computer is not your CD-key, the CD-key is what created your account. What you put on your computer was the GW client, which you can put on to any number of computers you want, or just download from the GW website.
If you both have 2 separate accounts, you can both access them from any computer that has the client on it.

I guess my next question would be: How does the "-image" command work?
I remember when I deleted the GW.dat file on my desktop to fix corrupted files, all i had to do was type "-image" in the launch shortcut.
If I do this on my laptop with the newly installed GW client, how will it know to download all of my friends files and not mine? Or does the -image command download only the static files (i.e. maps, explorable areas)?

All the data for your account is stored online. You are able to play your account on any computer with Guild Wars installed, and the appropriate data is loaded automatically. As long as you have the login and password, anyone can access any account from any installed Guild Wars client.

It downloads everything. The only files unique to your friend would be his screenshots, build templates and any UI changes he's made to his client.

The GW.dat file has nothing account related. All account related info is on the Guild Wars servers you connect to.

Excellent.
