"Anet doesnt have time - gw2...gw2...gw2..."

Everytime someone has a suggestion now on guru for GW1, I ALWAYS am seeing "/notsigned, Anet could be using this time for GW2 intsead of implementing "whatever""

Okay sure! But Ive heard this 1000 times! Stop saying this because by now EVERYONE has heard it and it is a pointless and non helpful statement.

People that post that are normally idiots that cant handle what other people may furthur enjoy from the game. Its normally a sign of elitist greed meaning 'I love GW so much as it currently is, and want its babies, so should you'.

Anet are still spending time on GW, those updates dont just come out of nowhere.

It was already a dumb argument, you come on making a rant post when people are just telling the truth.

There is no future for GW1, even Regina has said, its in the last stages of its life. Any updates will be small changes, all those multiple suggestions are pointless.

Just for emphasis... People are saying it because its true and you cant stop them. GW2 > GW1

Try not to pay attention to people like him / her. In their opinions, GW is perfect and doesnt need any changes.

Most people that know anything about the game will realise that it is a shattered ball of glass now that cant be fixed no matter what because Anet havnt got a clue what they are doing anymore.

For example we really needed a title with emotes for opening a chest which already drops epic loot.

But the people that love GW think this is awesome because it just feeds their elitist desires even more.

You can say that GW1 is at the end of its "life" but guess what, its still got about 2 years left... Which means that its only gone through 3/5 of its life, lol...its not on the "final stretch" Its just past the first half now.

Yes, because concise skill descriptions were a 'small' change. I dont think many people are asking for more then PVE fixes right now, it is still messed up.

I agree with the OP (although, not with all of bhavv's over generalizations, some people can still like this game and not be elitests. After all, it is a game. I play because I enjoy the combat system)

A.net has NEVER said that they can't impliment a feature because of GW2. It has just become a forum meme repeated by certain people when they can't come up with a legitamate arguement to shot down an idea.

Cut it out. The more poeple say it, the more people will actually start to believe that that is A.net's actual policy.


A.net has never said GW1 has no future. In fact, they said the exact opposite. They said the severs will be maintained indefinately and that GW2 is still a LONG way away so they will continue to update GW1 regularly for some time with new content/balances. Please stop with the misinformation and trolling.

And im not saying I dont like it GW has the best PvP system around, or that I dont want changes I can just see that its pointless asking for them.

Anet did someting about "Leeching" AFTER GW2 was advertised, and AFTER it was a posted suggestion on Guru, not all suggestions are pointless mate

You should never say what the CR said if you cant be bothered to post a link. And there are still plenty of great suggestions being made that would make nice and easy updates to the game (E.G. Account based treasure and wisdom titles).

You have no right to put down someone elses opinion on the game just because you misinterpret what the CR said. And we have also seen plenty of times that anet go against what they say and do because they eventually realise something is a good idea. Since you dont work for Anet, you are completely powerless to say or assume what they are doing or thinking.

Also, what do Anet still say if you E mail them a suggestion? 'Post it on a community forum'.

GW2, by what we do know about it, seems to be far better than GW1 is/was... but that is what is expected.

I would rather them make a totally awesome game than spend time on a game that has been out for over 3 years...QUALITY OVER QUANTITY!

Alot of the suggestions are quite assanine and won't improve the quality of the game enough to make it worth people's time.

Would I /sign for a new area/content? Yes. Would I sign for you to be able to have a hair dresser? No.

They will make a totally awesome game with GW2, and ruin it with asshat updates just like they did with GW.

Most problems right now wouldnt exist in the game if it wasnt for the updates and changes Anet made.

Prophecies was a solid, brilliant game. Factions was also good, but they began ruining what players originally enjoyed about the game with rubbish at the time skill updates for PVP (OMG boon prot nerfs for example). It was a solid big issue because now people were forced to buy the new chapter for the skills if they wanted to remain competitive. Then from NF onwards, they just broke, and carried on breaking the game.

Most of the updates we are now getting are fixes for Anets own mistakes.

They were. They had a bot go through all the skill descriptions and do nothing more than replace formatting with other formatting. Skills that aren't in the game anymore (beta skills etc) got concise descriptions in the gw.dat file. Skills that are literally called REMOVED but have a description have concise skill descriptions in the gw.dat file.

Skills that don't conform to its parameters got a N/A concise skill description.

It probably took them less than 1 day to do the concise descriptions man, assuming they used even a decent PC to do it.

Easy to do != Easy to actually do properly. Companies do get huge overhead.

One rogue developer could add most features we want during afternoon, but it does not work that way in companies, lets see what really happens when RFE is implemented:

a) RFE and feedback on it is gathered (0.5 MD)
b) Analyst does technical feasibility (0.5 - 1 MD)
c) Business does business feasibility and feature GO / NO-GO is decided(0.5 - 1 MD)
d) Business allocates resources (0.5 MD)
e) Analyst does logical outline, ties all loose ends (1 MD)
f) Head developer outlines technical solution (1 MD)
g) Developer does actually programing (0.5 MD)
h) Build is done, someone updates test server (0.5 MD)
i) Q/A check out feature, does extensive "will it break stuff?" testing. (2-3 MD)
h) Conference is called, release GO / NO-GO is voted (1 MD)

Whoa. total of 1 week+ half dozen+ people are involved. And if this does not happen, bad things will.

Some of the suggestions are still very good and worth considering.

They are also down to personal preference. I would rather sign for A hairdresser, not that i expect it to ever happen nor that its a good idea, then sign for a new area. There are plenty of areas in GW for you, but there arent any hairdressers for people that would like and enjoy this feature.

I would also still like an auction house and 7 heroes for PVE, regardless if Anet have already said no, because this would make the game a lot more fun for me. The auction house in particular would be the end of trade spamming for hours on end and make it a lot easier to trade.
