so we know that Anet will let us transfer most of what we did in GW1 to a GW2 account. my question is have they hinted as of how this will be done? my idea is to keep this as mess free as possible.
1. click on a button that is "link gw1 account".
2. put your gw1 email and pass in.
done
if anyone has any constructive comments, or suggestions they think are better its always appreciated.
i know its a bit early to be thinking about this but, I am just kinda stressing cuz if we have to trough email i am screwed. ( as i forgot the pass for the email connected to my gw account, and the recovery system is not working, for email not gw )
GW1 transfer to GW2

i figured they would just make you log in with the same account as normal, like you always have, just some characters would be "GW2" and others would be "GW1". You just get extra character slots.

more so just how you will link the accounts in the first place.

Pretty certain anets thinking on this is to let you take across things that will not give you any real advantage over players who don't have gw1.
It seems the hall of monuments will allow a character legacy to be passed down to the "decendants" of the gw1 characters, but this is cosmetic.
So I expect weapon skins to pass and possibly pets, they have said character names will be held for your gw2 game account.
Given that its a new game with possible massive changes to classes and skills I doubt anything in storage will transfer over ditto skills although surviving skills might remain unlocked.
We don't really know

What will probably happen is either you add the serial key thru guild wars and like tie it thru there or new client and sign in like u normally would and you get a pop up saying enter Gw2 key then box to input serial.

It`s gonna be simple, and i think i read it somewhere GW2 would need to be added on same account/password for games to get linked. Then u have reserved names for chars, HoM u can see in GW2 and some "propably" lame reward for GW1 achievements !
