So I left GW for WoW about a year ago and never looked back until about a week ago after listening to the last ep of Guild Cast.

My question is very simple, do people still play this game; I mean in the numbers they did at least with the release of NF.

If so, do people still run UW, FoW, DoA, The Deep, and Urgoz? Do they still run the old builds or is there a new scrub build?

How was GW:EN, I have it but have yet to really dig into it.

Thanks!

Regarding popularity: Yeah, it's still pretty busy. Regarding the elite areas and the like, unless you have the new skill Ursan Blessing you're not going to have a whole lot of luck. But you already have GW:EN so that's a step on the "right" track at least.

GW:EN's pretty cool if you're still digging GW. It has a lot of dungeons and a lot of beasties so it'll keep you pretty preoccupied for awhile.

My main character is a monk, I assume the build has room for a monk, no?

Refreshing!!!!
I think what Bryant is being tactful about in his answer is:
GW:EN= Ursan blessing.( The #1 reason anyone buys that part anyways.)
It isn't a build, as much as ANet's answer to those that REALLY needed help killing things in PvE.

Unless you gain entry to an 'Old skool PvE Guild', or get r10 Norn rank...and have Ursan...good luck getting into the Elite areas.

There's always room for monks, Lien, so I don't know that I'd worry about that. Especially in PUGs.

Some guilds still run Deep/Urgoz. Trub's guild (SMS) still runs stuff like that. You might be able to hang with them, if you're not a complete scrub, that is.

As a monk you can always do the elite areas with an HB build. Ursan + HB is the standard nowadays. They'll want you to pump up lightbringer rank though.

When it comes to pugs, oldskool builds like bonder in FoW are gone.

I was in a guild that did NON Ursan Urgoz runs, I found it much more fun then doing it Ursan...But the others are right, unless you find a guild that does it old school, as a monk you will need the HB build to go with the Ursans in elite areas. sad I know, lol
