everyone is always standing in this game and the crotch animation looks weird for most of the classes
So i had any idea today that if they added benches all around the game, in towns, in PVP areas where the scenery is nice that you could SIT on these benches
So benches spruced all around the game and then when you right click on it you'd sit down and if you press certain buttons you can cross your legs while seated or have one leg on top of the knee or just some more relaxing emotes instead of standing all the time
what do you think?

Anyway, not a terribad idea, but still a bit unnecessary and complex in the current GW system. Might not be a bad idea for GW2 though.

its either standing up like a cold statue or a dance emote which look all the same
everyone is vertical, nobody is sitting or sleeping on ground so it looks like robots

As long as Anet adds pigeon NPC's to go along with these benches. Feeding pigeons is fun, and you could add an enemy pigeon that attacks you if it doesn't get fed bread crumbs.

I can't help but think this rather innocuous idea is being shot down and dragged through the mud solely because of who the OP is, not because the idea itself is particularly horrible.

I think you guys are being hard on OP due to past history of posts.
Surely, it's not articulated well, but Solange seems to be interested in a more interactive RolePlay-friendly environment and atmosphere than GW currently has.
While not everyone would use it, the option is nice and, quite frankly, this is not a terrible idea and is absolutely not uncommon amongst MMORPGs.

Some emotes move the character away from its position. A female Necromaner takes two steps forward before starting to dance. So if you dance on a set of stairs, you'll end up dancing in the air.
The same could be done. An emote that 'sits' in the air two steps before the character. If there is a bench or anything with the appropriate height, the character would look like sitting there.
But I see no need to add a new system just for sitting. A fake would do and won't require any kind of modification in the game, just new emotes.

I don't care who the OP is...this is a stupid idea. There's a /sit command. Sitting on a bench like Forrest Gump would look ridiculous. The heroes of this game (i.e. YOU) don't have time to sit around on a bench...they're on a mission to save the fkn world. Get off your rump and go fight!

If guild wars to is going to allow us to jump over landscape and stuff, then why don't we just jump onto the benches and use /sit? We'd look like Spiderman, or something like that, but it's not like it requires a whole new bunch of coding on their part.

We need our players to be more comfortable. For that, we need couches and sofas. The average tired traveler would no longer have to stand around, or even sit on uncomfortable benches! We'll have soft, relaxing couches for them.
To go with that, we need the /sleep emote. That'll allow them to truly take a great rest on these newly added couches and sofas.

What would that ad to the game, you hp and energy regen on there own, its not like you would gain anything from it. It wouldnt add to the game at all tbh, can you really see any benifit from it?
If you want your characters to sleep, just log off and go outside....

I think it would be nice to have a gathering place where you can sit, rest or order drinks over the bar kind of stuff, it would make more sense to drink and get drunk while hanging around with the rest of the community and have the necessary animation to go with it. rather then have a line up of bikini babe dancing blocking the stairway :P~
