I'm probably going to get flamed for not being able to do this mission in hard mode, but I'm playing as a ranger and getting 7 shades of snot beaten out of me, can anyone suggest a build for me and my heroes to beat this mission?

I did this mission as a ranger , and actually did it without issue, especially since its a 4 player area. I went as a poison arrow with a couple interupts. I used the Saabs 3 necro build and breezed right through it. All you need it careful pulling in a couple spots and proper use of the catapult

I had a lot of trouble with this mission at first too, so you shouldn't feel bad.

I play a ranger, and I ran a broadhead arrow build. Works great against the overseers especially, and the other casters as well. Hero-wise, I brought a basic WoH healer (found on PvX), and 2 searing flames nukers (also on PvX). The eles had a little trouble against the Charr rangers (they have ignite arrow), so do your best to flag them away from eachother so the AoE doesn't get them. It also helps to bring a blinding skill like throw dirt+epidemic (provided they're bunched together)

Other than that, take it as slow as possible. Don't rush. Try not to take on more than 3 Charr at a time. Be sure to bring a blocking skill. Lightning reflexes works fine as well as whirling defenses.

Hope that helps.

Hi

If you think that fort ranik was tought , when you get rdy to work on your vanquisher title , there a arera near ruins of surmia , i believe with lots of grawl, there in groups with 3 or 4 grawls monks all lvl 28 and 30, now thats a major pain there.

For the record, I doubt you'll get flamed for failing an area in HM.
That aside, Hex removal + A curses necro and maybe a MM would help alot in there, probably Sabway with some form of hex removal.

Yeah, what miskav says.

Take your SAB MM hero and drop some of the prot skills for hex removers.

I did this area with a ranger, weilding an Axe, That way I could grab the aggro since minions take a few secs to respond. After the initial aggro some babies break off, but by then the minion wll has moved up and they are done for. Take an interupt or two fo sho.

I did pretty much al the 4 man missions this way, as well as much vanquishing.

@ SNIEVES

No shit, the grawl groups will have 2 healers and 2 hammer guys, it's like some overpowered gimmick outta TA, I've started that vanquish a couple times but never finished it because of those f***ers.

i agree with miskav, everyone who has done any of the hardmode areas, will tell you that 4 man areas are hard tyria, , alot of players practice what is called in vanquisher terms caravan vanquishing, leaving from a 6 or 8 man post and traveling along way across to reach the 4 man areas.

yea dude, in that particular arera what i did was i played myself a Broadhead arrow ranger with poison, d shot, and savage shot, and ias troll and res chant, also took master of whispers as a MM, dunkoro as a HB monk and norgu or if you dont have norgu gwen would do nicley, with a pure interupt build with physic instability as the elite, and with some careful pulling i beat it.,of course that was like almost a year ago.

Right, the topic is about the mission, not vanqing Eastern Frontier, there are plenty of threads to talk about that one -.-

I did Fort Ranik a few days after HM was out, before Pain Inverter or the three necro builds. I did it with myself as a BHA ranger, one ele Nuker, a Flesh Golem MM and Dunkoro as a WoH healer with PS and Aegis. It should still work pretty well, just make sure you have a block stance (Lightning reflexes was mentioned above, it's a very good idea), and bring Throw Dirt as well.

Of course, now that you have EoTN, DEFINITELY bring Pain Inverter. Since you'll most likely have a MM along, PI will own all the Charr (they use Cyclone Axe, Ignite Arrows and Hundred blades, and they all like to hit the minion army), and they're the biggest pains you'll face. Pain Inverter owns everything, though.

Another thing you can do is flag your MM ahead of your party, so the minions aggro first. Then you and the monk and nuker come in and flatten the enemies.

I've done with bonus as well using the 3 necro build on guildwiki and me as a apply poison/burning arrow ranger, which allowed me to kill the charr on the 'gauntlet' part of the mission.

Cheers the help.

MY two cents.

You can get a charrslaying bow made for you if you know someone that has access to the weaponsmith in eye of the north. I think it is there. This will give you a +20% bonus to your bow.

Just a thought.
