What to do with my dead guild?

I recently came back to GW after a long absence -- I quit playing back in 2005 or so.

When I first started GW, a group of friends and I created a guild. We had a cape, a guild hall (Isle of the Dead), some NPCs, etc. It was exciting (and expensive) back then.

Now that I've come back, I'm the "Guild Leader" of a dead guild. I'm the only person in the guild who has been active for years. Yet we still have a nice cape and guild hall.

I'd like to join another guild, so I can get in on some PvP, but I feel bad just leaving the cape/hall to rot unused.

I was thinking about selling or even giving it away to someone who was trying to start a guild and didn't have enough money for everything.

How do I do that, without potentially getting scammed? Is this sort of sale/transfer done regularly? Where do I find someone who is starting a guild, aside from shouting in Lion's Arch district 1?

I don't care about getting top dollar for this guild -- I'd probably give it away if I felt like the new guild would get good use of it. But I don't want to get scammed, and I'd like to do this fairly quickly, so I can move on to a new guild. I don't have time to run a good guild myself.

Giving it away means you won't get scammed.

If you are trying to sell it, there is no way to assure you won't be scammed short of getting them to pay first (and then *they* run the scam risk).

you can also disband the guild
just kick everyone and then next to your name click the icon open
normally it would say leave my guild but since you're leader and the guild is empty it says disband my guild

Oh hell if you are not worried about making a ton of money off of it. Try having some kind of silly contest where the winner get's the guild. You know one of them silly quiz contests that people run giving away money and the like. If you would like to make a few dollars. Try including it into some kind of trade where you are not necessarily getting gold/plat but something of value. Some people I think will take more risk with an item, than they would with cash. Just a thought. Good luck either way you go. I love my guild, or I would take it off of your hands.

Easiest way is just to disband it; no point in trying to resurrect a dead guild especially at this stage of the game's life.

Well if you are looking to give the thing away, I could take it off of your hands for a fee

Is that legal? If it is then I my IGM is Yashi Hiro Moto

I am looking to start a guild. BTW can you change the name of the guild after you make it?

Did you just ask him to pay you to take his guild? Wow.

I would be paying the fee. He charges me a free or names his price. But I am not so sure now as you can not change the name of the guild. So it would now depend on the guild name
