*** New Feature: Ability to add polls in Sardelac aka No one reads stickies

We wanted to let everyone know that there is now an ability to do Polls in just our Sardelac Sanitarium forum. We are hoping that this will aid in furthering discussion and cut down on /signed or +1 posts in this area. The rules for this are outlined below:

Use of Polls

Users in this forum are welcome to create polls in order for others to show their support. We suggest users form a poll with (at least) an option to Agree with your suggestion, an option to Disagree, and when appropriate an option to neither agree or disagree. We ask users to be responsible when creating Polls and make both the question and the options clear. If a Moderator deems your poll to be unclear, or offensive, it may be edited or removed. If you voted on the poll there is no need for you to post simply stating how you posted. This will be considered spam and will be deleted. Remember, if you wish to post, please post constructively and add to the discussion rather than posting to simply increase your post count!
Please note, we are trialing this for 1 month to see the type of response and use of this feature. After 1 month we will determine whether this is a good addition to have permanently or if new rules need to be implemented.

Also, you are able to go to your old threads and add a poll by using the "Thread Tools" drop down and clicking on "Add a Poll to this Thread" as well.

We should not be seeing anymore threads where the poster is asking people to post a simple /signed or /notsigned. Create a poll.

Unfortunately, as you've already noticed yourself, nobody reads stickies, so the chance of people reading this topic is quite small and thus you will still see a lot of /(not)signed posts. But still, I like it!

Fortunately, this post is not a sticky.

One thing that I've been thinking is that like profane words, /signed, /unsigned and /notsigned could be replaced in posts by links to the rules.

Heh, teething problems.

Polls are slowly starting to appear, but people are voting and STILL adding a /signed or /notsigned post!

Duh - come on, people - it's not that hard to comprehend!

I will say, that if I make any future suggestions, I will be making a poll if it is possible to go in with the suggestion, and say only to post questions and/or suggestions to my suggestion.

TBH, there were always stupid topics here.

Pools are more or less useles, as people will always vote for the 'easy' one.

some people will vote in the poll and still make a post because they want to explain why they voted as they did, or defend their position etc.... and a +1 post never hurts either
