Slipping Away
Randvek
I find myself spending less and less time on GW, mostly due to no new content forever (that, and I'm convinced GW2 will be sliding back and back). I know others are, too. It's tough to find groups with my old mates just because most of us aren't around as much as we used to be. Now they're talking about taking Ursan away.
No new content, harder to find groups. I'm not a hardcore farmer, which is all I see anymore (both PvE and PvP farmers, mind you). Is there something I'm missing? Is there something new Guild Wars can offer me while taking away the few options we have left?
Please, pique my interest. Other MMOs aren't as good as GW, but they are offering something Guild Wars can't: something I haven't done twenty times before. If Ursan slips, semi-decent ability to group will be gone, too.

There's really nothing you can do except take a break. There most likely won't be any new content for GW1, and GW2 beta isn't until at least next year now. Stop playing for a few weeks, come back, I'm sure you'll find something to do.
Lady Raenef
Everyone takes breaks. My account has been active for 27 months. No friggin' way I've played for 27 months straight. There's not enough to do in the game to do that. I'd say after a good eight month break like me, you'll find yourself in the game for another month or two randomly.
Alazardragoon
Do what I do get on guild wars when you feel like it only. If you don't feel like playing it don't force yourself to play it. If you end up going months without feeling like playing it its time to say, "It was a fun time, a great game, but im done with it now". I don't see why people have so much trouble doing that to mmorpgs when they can have games they don't touch for years in a cabinet... I for one can quit a mmorpg from one day to the next no problem. And have in the past a lot. Deleted my FFXI account as a anger spur of the moment thing after 3 years of work on it. I don't regret it. Sure Id like to play on it once in a while...but oh well shit happens life goes on.I gave away my Sword of the new world password to my entire clan and user name, Because of something K2 networks did that was personally insulting to me, I do not regret it at all. I made sure to remove all information about myself to prevent anything from getting out of hand..but since it was a F2P game and i never used cash shop I didn't need to worry now I don't know who is running around with my old lvl 100s If you are tired of a game put it away. Play something else man. Its easy as that don't see it as an online game just see it as a video game you can quit and put in your cabinet at any time, If you want to come back to it im sure it will be here for at least another 2 years.
Lady Raenef
It's easy to break free from the MMORPG. I ditched Runescape like a hot potato.
Sadly, I had a level 106 before I did.

35 months of game play. Guild wars is a good game to leave and come back too.
Ursan made the game fun and accesible for players with jobs and lifes. Now I expect as usual. Things will take 2x as long for FR if ursan build is even still usable. Which makes the distance between the hardcore elitest player and commitment player gap, that ever bigger.
So in the coming months lets all say a big hello and welcome back to all the gold sellers.
(I don't condone or use gold sellers, just my take on what will happen)

Personally, I and most of my friends who used to play it are bored. We all feel that removing the hero limit would help a lot.
Shadey
Man if they nerf ursan I might come back and actually play again.
the problem is making a specific char is pointless..cause unless u have ursan the char is no use to any group these days.
Which in turn (for me) took all the fun outta GW instantly
Actually I lie..even if they nerf ursan i wont come back. They screwed GW big time.

My interest in GW is vanquishing now , not for the money , but for the fact that the builds I choose for me and my heroes can or can't beat that area , vanquishing with ursan is dead boring. As for ursan getting the nerf bat , I don't care , I tried DoA runs but the people there are like beasts.
@OP : do what you like best , even if it's the most banal thing out there.

I say take a break and come back. That would be the best option.

Join a really active guild, title seek or take a break. I do all three and doing so has kept me playing for 3 years.

Guild Wars isn't supposed to hold you forever. It's not an MMO: it doesn't cough-up monthly and new content. If you're not having fun then you're supposed to play a different game. The more you try to look for more fun within a game where you're *not* having fun, then it's time for something new.

Take a break.
You either realize that GW is not gonna cut ut for you anymore and you'll not come back.
Or you will start getting all kinds of ideas about another cool thing you ought to do and you'll come back.
either is win for you.

You don't wanna be hardcore player. You expect elite game areas to bow to you. Im sorry, but this is an utter communist crap. You already have maxed weapons and armor... what else do you want? According to your logic everyone should start game character with lvl20 plus fow armor, stack of ectos and r6 koabd in their pockets.
Well luckly not everyone is like you. I play this (or any) game for fun and challenge. I don't want any of this autowin crap. I want defeating something in PvE to actually mean something, rather than being a routine farming. I'm sorry, I already have a job in real life, I don't need another one. I want to play the game, if you don't - you can get the hell out.

THANK YOU!!!! Well said. My brother and I were talking about this just the other day. We worked with an alliance group (balanced) at Slavers (did Selvetarm). Took 21 minutes to clear the zone.
He and I wanted to try to pug Duncan, but no one would take us as we didn't Ursan. We both thought it pathetic. After all, normally, an Imbagon and a Domination Mesmer aren't the most popular characters selected for Slavers.
The funny part of this is he helped a group with Selvetarm a little later. 4 Ursan, 2 monks, an SS, and him (mesmer). It took over an hour to do that way. Three times as long with "experienced Ursan".
We'll be happy if an Ursan nerf comes. Maybe people will learn to use skill instead of mash keys.
Silly Warrior
Everyone is suffering from this syndrome. People play less and less for a very obvious reason...there is nothing left to do.
You can only take so much sap from a tree until it runs dry...and Guild Wars is rather...well...needing a major update.
The announcement of no beta in 08 was a big letdown for me personally, and I'm sure it was for many people.

By the time GW2 comes out there are going to be better games out. I believe they are losing pretty much their entire player base doing this, slow suicide of their company. And the great thing is they seem not to care about this. I know that I have lost all interest in Anets games at this point, I play every once in a great while but I am seriously thinking of uninstalling and not looking back and even mabe moving onto WoW for a bit. Something I had never, EVER, thought I would consider. And by the time GW2 rolls out Aion and maybe even D3 will have been released, so I do not Think I am going to look to Anet for games anymore.
I do not mean to sound like a GW basher, I loved the game a ton. But when you feel like there is nothing left to do in game it is time to move on from it. And it is their own frigging fault.

Finished Guild Wars?
PvP.
Grind titles.
Ursanway.
THAT IS ALL.
Seriously though I spend most of my time on GW helping new players these days.I fully love mucking around with builds playing some of the older levels while still helping others progress.
In saying if your just out to have fun I think GW will be relevant as long as the servers run hence why I'm still playing. If your looking for more content wise your kidding yourself imo other than grinding titles.
Let's face it, theres no more content coming other than updates and balances, hence imo GW is now what you make it.

Recently I have been playing GW less and less so i've decided to take a break for a while. And when I come back I will probably delete a few chars and start over again.

Robbert Monga, I couldn't agree more. I think it is obnoxious that people want to just jump into the game and win win win. What's the point in playing if you don't have the option of failing, and changing strategy, and trying again. I have never played Ursan, for one the title grind isn't for me (even though I am quietly working my way up to Legendary Spearmarshal). I mourn the days of balanced FoW and UW groups having a hard time of it.
One of my favorite experiences of the game was an incredibly hard and long FoW clear as a monk. If we had gone Ursan it would have been easier, faster, but less enjoyable. I was kept on my toes, and had to be alert to all my team mates. It gave me a small sense of pride that my mates could go off and fight and know, not THINK, but know that I would be there to save them, if they got into trouble. That may sound arrogant, but dammit, I've done enough to be arrogant I feel.
To the OP, I have just come back from a four month break, and I am really getting back into Guild Wars. Farming is enjoyable, for some reason, and the sense of achievement, even though nothing has really been done, is still enough for me. I enjoy the game, for the game. I know it's only a game, but it the Guild Wars enviroment, I feel I have achieved something, and met some nice people along the way.
And to all those who say that the game is dying, it is just your desire to play that is waning. The game is still good, it's still great. The magic of discovery may have been lost, but now I feel I have a deeper understanding of the game, and it's mechanics, and I enjoy using those to my advantage. The way you experience the game changes along with your play time. At first everything is new and exciting, and merely seeing everything becomes your goal. After a while, that sense of joy of seeing something new has worn off, and you come to want to defeat the enviroment, and beat. Eventually, that too has passed, and now you are left with a feeling of what next. I had that, but coming back to the game, I see it in a new light. It is a challenge. I have beaten it before, but can I defeat it better? And the thing, no matter what people, the game does reward you for that. It may be just titles, and people may just say that you can grind for them. But if you really have an urge to understand the game, and beat it better (:P), they do have some meaning. It is an emblem you can wear that says, look what I've done, I'm proud I've done it.
And to nip this in the bud, I could write more, the way the I have viewed the game has changed, and so have the challenges it presents me with. Now it's recaptured my imagination, and it has genuine joy for me when I play. If you don't have fun while playing, don't play. Simple as.

Why play a game if you find it boring or whatever? If I were you and don't feel comfortable, I'll take some rest and come back later.

I think it's safe to say that most of us are in the same boat as you.

I still play because there are a few aspects of the game a enjoy and I enjoy doing missions and dungeons with people I know. Hang in a Vent channel with a few friends and play GW.

i am just slowly grinding titles myself.

Take a break, I have done so on multiple occasions and always have fun when I come back

No game is meant to be fun forever. I don't care how good a game is but it will get boring eventually. I know that I've exhausted GW after about 3,500 hours worth. So now I'm playing WoW and it is just as fun as GW was and just as addicting way back when I started playing GW. Best if you try other games and not just GW because it keeps things fresh and entertaining.
Clarissa F
Get away from the game. Play another game for awhile, take up knitting, build your dream house, whatever. Get into another MMO for a month or two, and you will appreciate what GW has. Balanced pvp, decent storylines, nice graphics and pretty scenery, nice combat action, all make it a great game. At least you can unplug without worrying about the whole monthly fee thing.

I find myself playing WOW now and enjoying it, ironic that when i first tried WOW some two years ago i hated it cos of the graphics in comparison to GW.
But after nearly three yrs and almost 5000 hours of GW, short of grinding titles there is not a lot left for me.
Continuous dumbing down of the game and time spent have me completley worn down with it,a shame but nothing lasts forever.

It takes more than a ton of people playing simultaneously on the internet to be able to put the label "MMO" on it.

CSS =/= MMO
a CSS server has about 16 man (some go up to 40 but not alot) and if you compare that to a city like Kamadan it's a few hundreds of players running around, that's the massive in MMO

All my friends, pvp and some titles I still play the game and. Especially my friends, talking to them just makes the game so much more fun.
