Do something with the extra areas!

You will notice that whenever you look at the world map of any continent, there are always some weird, errant areas that you don't get to go to...they just sit there on the map, pointing and laughing at your inability to reach them...mocking you...
Theatrics aside, I think these areas would be perfect for some new content, should ArenaNet deign to do such a thing. They did something like that with Togo's story in the BMP and I really enjoyed prancing around those weird mountains, albeit not the mission. The same thing happened with Rise of the White Mantle and Gewn's Story- they all used a part of the areas we never get to see.
I think the main use of these areas could be new challenge missions with special chests at the end that drop unique awards. For instance, you know that black, burnt-looking island at the top of the Tyrian map? Why not give that a backstory and a mission to go along with it? you could put a guy in LA who, if you have completed Prophecies, would tell you that they have found the base for the Mursaat and that you have to go help destroy the source?
Or maybe those unused parts of Kaineng City? Maybe the Sensali tengu have captured those areas and you have to take them back.
This could rekindle interest, and you wouldn't really need to make new textures, just new places. I think this could rekindle interest, especially if those end chests had a rare/useful drop.
Post your own uses of the unused regoins, please! It doesn't have to be a challenge mission-just ideas. /Sign as well if you like the idea.
P.S. Please don't give me that "too late for anything: all busy on gw2." This is just a suggestion thread, so take your stale, overused opinions elsewhere.

I like it tbh, but seriously they are too busy with GW2, its not an overused opinion its just fact.

well it is overused but it is also fact. i do wish that they would add something diff from time to time. it doesnt have to be major maybe some new skins or runes.

and too be honest they have been working on gw2 for awhile now.. and don't think we will be seeing it any time soon (wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being in a couple of years) so yes i would love to see the unused areas be used for new towns, explorable areas

I skipped most of the OP, but I fully agree with Ama in that new areas are needed seeing how even with how long ANet's been working on GW2, it might still be a while.
ANet might have said no more campaigns or expansions for GW1, but they never said no more added content.
ANet! Give us some new areas! Even if it pushes GW2 back a little more, if it keeps us occupied longer then it takes to make the area, it's worth it!

I agree with your use of those areas but I really wanna see them make elite areas like UW and FOW for the other 3 Gods.I thought they were gunna do that ever since GW came out, why wouldnt they.

The reason i posted not to say that is because I want people to give suggestions as to how to use the unused map space. And just by the way, this has nothing to do with new god areas or whatever.

Adding new content to fill all unused map space is quite a bit. At all continents it is more than a single continent as we have now.

I agree that it'd be a great idea to use those areas for new content, but the cold hard truth is that Anet apparently isn't planning on adding any new content to GW1.
At one point, I thought maybe they were going to add some new content that took place on those upper volcanic-looking islands, because one time I saw a glitch where, on the mission map map, my green character icon appeared on those islands for no particular reason. I thought it might've been a bug related to some kind of update, but I was probably wrong. It was most likely nothing more than a glitch.

It would be cool to see some of the areas in Cantha's mainland opened up, specifically the mountains surrounding the Jade Sea, and that Island in the bottom left corner.

New content is FTW, but then again, you always thought it'd be cool to see a volcano first hand, but you wouldn't want to jump in, right? What I'm getting at, is stick with your imagination. They're not going to add anything there, I'm pretty much willing to bet anything on that. As much as I'd like to see a new Fire Isles explorable area. We all thought the final boss would be there when the EotN map was finally given out to the public.

There are some doors that really intrigue me:
- The ones guarded by Rotscale.
- The ones in the East side of Tahnnakai Temple.
- The ones in the North side of Barbarous Shore.

I would really like it if they used all of the map... Just hit M next time you're playing, theres a ton of huge areas (Like the area to the left of the Kurzick forest) that isn't even reachable...

I don't think any of you understand how much works it takes to makes a game. No, they cant just take a break from GW2 and make some stupid little quest area in the middle of nowhere.

Well, there are some areas, already fjnished, that can be reused:
Prophecies has *tons* of those: Mission maps (that's what ... 25 possible explorables?), removed pvp outposts and pvp arenas.
There are some leftovers in other campaigns (i.e. "Vabbian Pyramid" in NF)
BMP Areas can be reused as explorables too.

This is what I meant. Allow us to access areas that have already been made but deleted, like the old Droknar's Fogre team arena was. I also want to know- if they were going to add some new content, where would you want them to add it and what would you want it to be?
