Character Advice

So I recently created a Mesmer and quickly got disenchanted with it as I couldn't stand sitting back using conditional hexes to deal damage. So I'm more or less looking for a new class to play, however, as the title would suggest, I'm stuck trying to decide.

What I want is something that's fun, isn't constantly stuck being pure support, can do decent damage, and eventually can farm either solo or with little help. However, as you can probably tell already, I'm partial to frontline/midline characters. Furthermore, I'm looking for one that can have a rather good build in the future (PvE and PvP wise) with just the Factions and Nightfall campaigns (as currently, other than an unlinked prophecies on another account, I don't have access to either).

To avoid possible posts recommending characters I already have; here's my current characters (names excluded):

P/Me
R/Rt
E/Me
D/Mo
Me/N
A/Rt

Secondary profession recommendations are appreciated as well.

I had thought about Warrior as I had played it back when IWAY builds were running around everywhere but to be honest I became slightly bored with them. I'll look into builds for warriors and see if there aren't any that can revitalize their "fun factor" however I'd like to hear more opinions and recommendations.

I'd also go for rit. It's so versatile. You can go as healer, damage dealer or support, all bundled into one very nice profession.
There are some farming builds around for rit too.

The other option is warrior, make them more fun with weapon spells!
