Im pretty sure the hamburger comment wasnt meant to be taken as a correlation to geography learning but as a jab at Americans.

Americans aren't the only people in the world who eat Hamburgers. Nor are they the only people in the world with some people who don't know geography. I can find hamburger eating geography dunces in any corner of the globe.

Pointing out ignorance of a people by use of ignorant stereotypes just makes the speaker ignorant himself of more than his accusations.

I'm sure I can find a vegetarian American who is just as bad at geography as the hamburger eater. I bet I could also find a hamburger eating geography major.

Well its just like christmas in July i guess... Its not unheard of, since in RL its an actual thing and most GW holidays are plays on real holidays.

Companies in Australia usually have Wintersday in July sales.. So I think it's a pretty good Idea. Too bad I won't be here for most of the weekend

Great idea IMHO. It's more original than the usual 2x whatever weekend.

No decorations, no quests, no hats, no collectors. Just arena and drops.

They must be desperate. Come on, give me another ss/lb weekend so i can max out my titles. But w/e, more gamer points for me!

Well, from my (down-under) point of view it still seems to be a little silly - the concept of Christmas in July in Australia came from the realisation that traditional Christmas foods are best eaten during winter. Tyria, on the other hand is pretty much all northern hemisphere (although I have my suspicions about Cantha...) and for all we know Tyrian seasons work completely differently anyway.

Still, that's more a cause of amusement than for complaint. It's really an excuse to inject more gamer and party animal points into the economy. (Okay, gamer points don't actually go into the economy, but you get my drift...)

That's stupid. They give us a new kind of weekend, and then decide to half-ass it.

Maybe I should stop expecting so much for them to do something good.
