We are all familiar with the 600/Smite monk team build as shown below, it’s durable and can farm many many places.
[build prof=Mo/? name="Clipboard" div=12 pro=12][Shield of Absorption][Spirit Bond][Protective Spirit][Spell Breaker][Optional][Blessed Aura][Balthazars Spirit][Essence Bond][/build]
[build prof=Mo/N name="Clipboard" pro=12 smi=12 blo=3][Blessed Signet][Purge Signet][Blood is Power][Rebirth][Vital Blessing][Life Attunement][Holy Wrath][Retribution][/build]
The main goal of this topic is to show that what a monk can do, a mesmer can also.
Below are all the needed variants using a mesmer along with instructions how to play.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
600 Monk / Mesmer Smiter
600 Mo/any
[build prof=Mo/Me name="600 CoF with mes smite" div=12 pro=12+1+1][Blessed Signet][Spell Breaker][Protective Spirit][Shield of Absorption][Spirit Bond][Balthazars Spirit][Essence Bond][Blessed Aura][/build]
Equipment
Lowest Level Al(such as starter armor)
Any head armor with the +1 Protection Prayers upgrade and also a Minor Rune of Protection Prayers and Minor Rune of Divine Favor.
Highest affordable Vigor Rune with the last 2 spots filled with Runes of Vitae.
All armor pieces equipped with Survivor Insignias.
Any weapon set with 20% longer enchantment mod and additional health
Usage
-Cast and maintain enchantments on yourself
-Use blessed Signet when low on energy, experienced 600 monks may not need this, but its important to understand that the mesmer smiter has no energy regen for the 600 such as BiP or BR.
Mesmer Smiter
Two Variants below, one for UW and the other for CoF
UW
[build prof=Me/Mo name="Mes UW Smite" fas=12 ill=12+1+3][Signet of Illusions][Purge Signet][Optional][Rebirth][Life Attunement][Vital Blessing][Retribution][Holy Wrath][/build]
CoF
[build prof=Me/Mo name="Mes COF Smite" fas=12 ill=12+1+3 ins=3][Signet of Illusions][Illusion of Weakness][Ether Signet][Rebirth][Life Attunement][Vital Blessing][Retribution][Holy Wrath][/build]
Equipment
Any armor, preferably high energy
Headpiece and Sup. illusion rune
Usage
- Cast Signet of Illusions until all 4 enchantments are maintained on the 600
- Cast Illusion of Weakness on yourself before battles. If it is triggered during battle and you need to re cast after battle, use Ether Signet to regain energy. ( This is CoF only. Not needed in UW)
-Use Purge Signet when needed ( Generally only needed in UW)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mesmer 600/ Monk Smiter
Mesmer 600
[build prof=Me/Mo name="mesmer 600" fas=3 ill=12+1+3 pro=12][Signet of Illusions][Protective Spirit][Shield of Absorption][Spirit Bond][Life Attunement][Vital Blessing][Blessed Aura][Essence Bond][/build]
Equipment
Lowest Level Al(such as starter armor)
Any head armor with the +1 Illusion upgrade and also a Sup. Rune of Illusion, (once enchantments are casted this is to be removed with either a clean headset or a set with a minor rune)
Highest affordable Vigor Rune with the last 2 spots filled with Runes of Vitae.
All armor pieces equipped with Survivor Insignias.
Any weapon set with 20% longer enchantment mod and additional health
Usage
-Cast Signet of Illusions and cast and maintain the first 3 enchantments, then cast essence bond, SoL isn’t needed for essence bond as its unlinked.
-Energy should be around 20-30 before attempting to engage any monsters.
-The better you conserve energy the quicker the run.
Smiter Monk/Necro(16/16)
Again two variants. One for UW and the other for CoF
UW
[build prof=Mo/N name="COF Smite with Mes600" div=12 hea=3 smi=12 blo=3][Spell Breaker][Blood Ritual][Signet of Devotion][Purge Signet][Rebirth][Balthazars Spirit][Holy Wrath][Retribution][/build]
CoF
[build prof=Mo/N name="COF Smite with Mes600" div=12 smi=12+1+3 blo=3][Spell Breaker][Blood Ritual][Signet of Devotion][Signet of Rejuvenation][Rebirth][Balthazars Spirit][Holy Wrath][Retribution][/build]
Equipment
Any armor, preferably high energy
Staff with +20% enchantments and preferably with +En
Important
Usage
-Switch to a Smiting headpiece so you have 16 Smiting prayers, cast enchantments and maintain.
-Switch back to Divine favour headpiece to cast Spell breaker on 600 Mesmer tank.
-Switch to No weapons
-If facing banshee’s (CoF only) Its advisable for the tank to take on no more than 2-3 at a time and when facing banshees for the smiter to switch to a healing prayers headpiece to get the best benefits from both healing signets, taking 2-3 banshee's only will enable you to do this run as a 2 man only, needing no extra heals as both signets will cover the damage - swapping headpieces are only needed if banshee's are in the group, otherwise you can keep divine favor on permanently.
-When battle is over you can switch back to Divine favour headpiece (if needed)
-In UW this isn’t needed, once enchantments are casted, maintain and keep on divine favor headset.
-After battle switch from empty hands to a high energy weapon set, you now should have enough energy to recast Spell Breaker and BR if needed.
-Repeat process of holding no weapon when tank is tanking. This speed it up
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reasoning
The mesmer smite is pretty obvious and there is no real explanation to why it was built like it is, illusion of weakness works extremely well.
The mesmer 600 on the other hand took some time.
Some people may question into the distribution of maintained enchantments, but there is a simple explanation for this, the smiter has now become a spell break caster, so it would be impossible to have 16 in divine, smite and protection, thus the enchantments where redistributed.
Some people may complain that the 600 mesmer has no energy regen due to 4 enchants. This cannot be changed, most experience 600 monks know that BiP and BR isnt needed that much, and its the same here, the smite takes BR as a precautionary measure, but from my testing BR only had to be used 2 or 3 times.
This build has been tested and works efficiently as a monk/monk combo.
Enjoy

A special thanks goes out to Asta Von Weimhoff and Blair Zoon for help in testing and tweaking.
Builds where initially built and designed using GW Teddy.
This will be posted up in PvXwiki in the coming days
