question about screenshots

Well, I could not decide what the right forum for this would be, so i put it in Q&A since its a question.

Why is it that i cant see it when people put screenshots on forums here, i just see a red X in the corner. (and ive used search and cant find anything on it)

Edit- Thanks guys, i figured out my problem, my comp is blocking pics, thank you for the help

The little red X would normally indicate that the link to the picture is broken or that there is some other reason why you can't link to it.

Could you give a specific example?

For example, can you seen the pictures in this thread? http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10308663

If you can't see the pictures in the above thread, it would likely be some setting in your browser that disables pictures.

Are you accessing this site from work or school? If so, it's likely that your company is blocking the sites that hold the images. That's the case with me. When I view the thread at home, I see all the images, but if I look at the thread at work I see red Xs or nothing (actually a tiny white dot that's barely visible).

In my case, Imageshack is blocked by my company as a non-work related site. (Yet, Guru gets thru?? Go figure!)

Also check if you're running script blockers...

Now the problem is solved, I can happily go (slightly) off topic...
That is generally the case. I'm blocked from Imageshack, Photobucket and both wikis. Guru gets through. Why? I don't know - but long may it continue!

(If Inde or another knowledgeable site admin should happen to know why this is, let us know, and we can badger the wikis to do the same!)
