Increase rewards for EotN dungeons to make them worth redoing
Marverick
Currently, most people do the EotN dungeons once, maybe twice (one per each mode), per character. Then they just become a relic of the past, basically forgotten.
Is this really how it's meant to be?
Look at FoW, UW, DoA; they are redone constantly because the reward is actually worth more than a one-time +20 points on a title.
EotN dungeons need better rewards. Give each dungeon a unique drop, have a weapon and armor set for each race that requires the unique drops in its respective regions, and have one master weapon and armor set that encompasses all 18 dungeons.
Reskin some of the dungeons; so many of them use the same exact levels that it's really quite pathetic and gets stale really quickly. Maybe one room reused is fine, but an entire level??
Also, farming the whole dungeon needs to be prevented. Put counters to all farming builds on the last few mobs before the final boss. That way you can farm some of the dungeon to get drops, but you can't run the whole thing, similar to UW/FoW.

are you joking me?
you not notice the end dungeon chests, they work the exact same as UW, FoW, Deep chests.
they all have certain items that have a rare chance of dropping. each dungeon other then vloxen has at least 1 unique item that only drops in that chest.
to the other points i am not starting other wise i will have a essay.
GL to you in your GW adventures and well dont pug my way, i run atleats 3-4 HM dungeons a day and have a blast i love GW:EN, even if it was rushed when they decided to make GW2 instead of a few different expansions.
i rather agree with the way they did this. hopefully GW2 lives up to what everyone is waiting for. keep up the work.
cheers

good idea!
and make all the monsters resistant to Kd's and carry energy denial.
if you don't understand it, you probably use it.

/Notsigned. The end chest is enough, although I do think that they can increase the rep reward for multiple completions.

I don't think it is the reward that is the main reason people don't do some dungeons. Catherdral of Flames is a popular dungeon and shares one similarity with UW, FoW, and DoA, they all have a starting locations. I believe it is about location and extra time it takes to get to the dungeon.
I don't see a need to increase the reward for dungeons since several of the dungeons that are hard to get to have some good end chest rewards. As for increasing rep points, I don't care about titles so knock yourself out.
It is just like the z-chest (except it takes 5 seconds to get to the end chest), most of the time you lose but sometime you win.
Two little things about Bogroot.

- Starting and Gadd's camp you can run there and never agro anything.
- With help a 600 / Smite can complete the dungeon, they will need a little help with the Stormcloud Incubus

I daresay that the droprate is so bad that, if it's the unique skins you're after, you're better off farming and just buying one.
That leaves the master dungeon guide as the only incentive. For me that's enough to get me to do all the dungeons ONCE in NM on most characters and ONCE in HM for my main.

Do you like... not even play the game and just post on forums?
Dungeons are about the only thing my guild does. You get about 5k every time you do one if u pick up and sell all your drops.

Lots of people do dungeons. Its the fact that there are so many of them and they are so repeatitive (using reskined areas) that they aren't that great, not the rewards from them. UW and FoW are timeless, full of unique monsters and lore. Raven's Point and most of the other dungeons just kinda blurr together.

Master dungeon guide is valuable at a bare minimum of 4 times. 1 for each reputation path.
So already you are looking at 4 runs per dungeon, and quite a few if you want an item and are unwilling to pay exorbitant prices to buy one and find pride in obtaining something for yourself.

Since we're on the topic, 5k every time you do a dungeon?! At what? A minimum of half an hour with cons and an elite ursan/HB team?! LOL I can make at least 4x that amount (assuming I'm unlucky) using the perma sin in UW. That is rediculous and pathetic, and one reason I shy away from dungeons and areas that offer little more than a possibility at a rare skin, of which the likelyhood of dropping is slim to none.

I still wouldn't do them though.
Well, to clarify - on that once in a blue moon occasion when I would do them - I wouldn't mind better rewards. Free money is free money.
But all in all they wouldn't be a initiative to do those crapholes.
Shit still stinks despite you putting a rose in it.

dungeon drops are crap now
since the drop of the onyx gemstone you're shit outta luck if you get one
and most items that drop aren't perfect

want some decent stuff from end chests

what I want is for them to be closer to town, some of them are just a pain in the where ever to get to that by the time you get there, you have to stop playing :P~

Either up the reward or come up with a quicker way to get to the dungeon.
I ran Ooze Pit, Bogroot, Kathandrax, Rragar, and Oola’s lab one day. At each end chest I got the exact same reward, 1 Onyx Gemstone and 1 Diamond. Since I was after the design-a-weapon equipment I really felt like I had just wasted the entire day. I agree if you want something it is quicker to get the gold and just buy it, but then you lose the thrill of finding it yourself.
If they increase the drop rate of rare gold skins that can only be found in that dungeon, those with e-peen attached to a certain spear are really going to be upset (sounds great to me).

The major issue with dungeon is not really the rewards, it is the system it was implemented in. Instead of giving us a hardcore dungeon experience like Urgoz was back in the day, that had a 1 in 12 chance of getting you a decent drop that sold for 100+xx ectos for over a year... instead we were given a bunch of remapped dungeons that everyone and their dog can finish with an astonomically minute chance of getting a decent drop.
If this does not encourage grinding I dont know what does.
Face it, EotN was one of the worst things to ever happen to GW. The currrent dugeon system is beyond fixing.

Big deal.
A) The game is about having fun, not maximizing profit. And most of the GW players agree with me. Otherwise, EVERYBODY would be doing Solo UW nonstop, and no one would play any other area of the game. Since there aren't 150 some districts in ToA (like there were for holiday events), obviously many people are playing to have fun, not maximize profit.
B) I know you were talking about the super rare drops. I wasn't addressing your points. But since you brought it up, if those items weren't super rare, then they'd have no value and would be merchant food (which many of those drops, especially the caster weapons, already are).
Tender Wolf
It does get annoying having to go through dungeons over and over and sometimes getting a crappy reward from the end chest. And so many dungeons, as was mentioned, are so far away from an outpost that it's a pain to even get to them and sometimes it's not worth it.
So yes they should definately put a town next to all dungeons (like Cathedral of Flames), and I totally agree that every time you do a dungeon you should get more points for that particular rep instead of getting like 100 after the first time. I've never had problems with the drops, I got a green in Vloxen and Arachni's Longbow dropped for me, and I also got an onyx gemstone from a treasure chest. Golds are fine even if they aren't perfect because at least they add to your wisdom title. Now purples on the other hand that drop from end chests are annoying unless they're perfect.
But really, the biggest thing they should fix is adding towns next to all dungeons and giving you so many more points every time you redo a dungeon. The drops to me are okay as they are.
Oh, and please don't nerf any farming/running builds, some people enjoy doing those things and it's easier on others to get a run through a dungeon instead of having to fight their way through what's a very annoying location.

While I don't think the OP's post was well done, I agree with the sentiment.
There just isn't a good enough reason to keep people coming back for more. I have never even seen one of these supposedly unique items come from the end chests and I have done every dungeon in HM at least a half-dozen times with all human players.
I do think they should up the cash reward, increase the reputation points rewarded and maybe drop 3 items instead of two. Honestly, I've gone in to dungeons and lost money because I bought two lockpicks beforehand.

I like the drop rates but then I've had good luck I guess.
I've never been into lowering drop rates on greens as long as I see the gear around every so often. They are rare for a reason and thats what makes them desirable in the first place. If it's too low thats counter productive to making the area more desirable to repeat as you either get the green you want and never return, farm it merely for profit, or buy it at a reduced price due to it being more common and over-farmed.
I'd rather leave it as is than have over-farmed items appear on the market for 1-3k.
In saying I do sympathize with those that have had bad luck.

I don't think you should get better itemm rewards at the end of dungeons.
However the concept disappointed me because I was expecting it to be more zelda-like with puzzles. Instead it was just like a plain old mission. Too late to change anything now though...
I think Dungeons could be re-skinned a bit and dungeon books should give better rewards. More reputation at the end of a dungeon would also be good and would give players variety, therefor lowering the grind of stuff like ursan farming.
