Old gw cdkeys for gw2
X Extreme Heals X
I do not have all of my old gw cdkeys, from factions proph nf etc, and I do not have the info to my play NC account - so will I have any problems merging over to gw2?
jiggles
you willbe fine. Anet wont be using the same cdkeys for gw2.

You might need them to link your HoM to your New GW2 account

I think you would be able to add the GW2 key to your GW account too. Would make sense, but it's still Anet we're talking about.
I think your avatar needs to be the other way around.

That'd screw loads of people over, requiring the CD keys >_>.
If that's the case, then meh, I know atleast a couple of dozen people who wont be playing.

I will be seriously po'ed if it requires CD keys from the original.

I doubt you'll need the CD-keys, it'd just be an extra step. The verification is already present in your account at PlayNC, so just add a GW2 CD-key to your account that already has the GW1 CD-Key's and tada...
Dunno why people think you'd have to punch them in again, if anything it would simply be for security reasons.

I don't understand why so many people seem to lose such an important item. I still have every CD-Key for every game that I own that has ever come with one. Including the Copy Protection Wheel for Star Control!
That being said, I highly doubt GW2 would need GW1 CD-Keys to play. It is feasible that you might need them to link your GW1 Hall to GW2 but no one knows for sure on that.

I'd guess you'd add the new GW2 CD key to your existing account, so just make sure you remember your account name and password.

it probably be linked trough your email or that would be the easiest and most likely you add it to gw2 account then also add to to gw1 and it joins them that way still has yet to be announce who really knows

Tell you the truth, nobody really knows if AreaNet is gong to require the old CD key for GuildWars2 game.
If you do then, I know alot of people that aren't going to be playing the new game in '09/'10.

I'm betting you use your GW2 activation key, and simply copy it into your GW1 key area.
Or register your gw1 acc to your gw2 acc via website? Similar to the system they use for Tournament prediction reward points?

With all the easy adding of Factions, Nightfall and EotN I doubt ANet is going to ask you to punch in those keys once again.

Thoughts:
When you buy a campaign or expansion through the online store, the "key" is added to your account automatically. When I bought EotN I never saw the actual key.
I would expect that, in order to transfer info from you GW1 HoM to GW2, you would either have to add GW2 keys to your existing account (therefore not needing to know your keys) or there would need to be some way of retrieving the keys from your GW1 account, or you won't need GW1 keys at all (not likely)
At any rate - no worries.

These 65 posts are pointless.
If you don't need them, this is all a waste of server space.
If you do, he's SOL, and this is all a waste of server space.
Go play Guild Wars, people.

We don't know for sure and it's purely speculation at this point.
