I doubt you'll need the CD-keys, it'd just be an extra step. The verification is already present in your account at PlayNC, so just add a GW2 CD-key to your account that already has the GW1 CD-Key's and tada...
Dunno why people think you'd have to punch them in again, if anything it would simply be for security reasons.

I don't understand why so many people seem to lose such an important item. I still have every CD-Key for every game that I own that has ever come with one. Including the Copy Protection Wheel for Star Control!
That being said, I highly doubt GW2 would need GW1 CD-Keys to play. It is feasible that you might need them to link your GW1 Hall to GW2 but no one knows for sure on that.

With all the easy adding of Factions, Nightfall and EotN I doubt ANet is going to ask you to punch in those keys once again.
Thoughts:
When you buy a campaign or expansion through the online store, the "key" is added to your account automatically. When I bought EotN I never saw the actual key.
I would expect that, in order to transfer info from you GW1 HoM to GW2, you would either have to add GW2 keys to your existing account (therefore not needing to know your keys) or there would need to be some way of retrieving the keys from your GW1 account, or you won't need GW1 keys at all (not likely)
At any rate - no worries.
