lost 101 ectos

hi guys i lost 101 ectos and 3 elite tomes.

i don't know the cause of it, i think it may have somthing 2 do with the EU connection problems. if anybody knows things more pls say.

how did you lose it? Was it in your inventory/storage and moments later you noticed it was gone? Or were you in middle of a trade?

no it was when i logged on in the morning, i looked in storage and saw that 3 elite tomes where missing in the beggin where all my tomes are. when i looked a bit more i noticed that the 101 ectos in crafting mats space where also gone.

P.S. i also noticed when i switch all my chars a darkwing defender missed (no big deal tho).

You were probably hacked. Did you dl any suspicious programs lately or go to a site that requested your GW info? Or did you give your GW info to a friend? Change your pass now and contact Anet's support.

alrdy changed and i gave it 2 1 guy, but the rare thing is he also gets this isuess, where should i also look on the a-net site?

Contact support it might not be on the website. Tell them what is happening and they will review your case.

Are you sure you didn't just deposit it into another char while trying a trade. Also if it was recent, check the recent trade partners or team partners to ID who the person who hacked you (if it was a hacking case). Its worth a shot just press n to get ur friends list and scroll down if you see a trade partner you have not seen its prob ur guy.

Sadly you probably got hacked, Also I've heard that if you bid on high end items ppl are more likely to try to hack your account. It seems to make sense but, don't know :S.

Ouch. Sorry, Mitch. When I saw your post in the Err 07 thread, I assumed that your loss was to do with that. Sadly not.

You can report to ANet and they will do what little they can to trace the perpetrator (basically, there's very little they can do) - and even if they do catch him/her, you won't get your ectos back.

Change your password to something secure - something like 16 digits long, a combination of upper and lower case, numbers and puncuation, for example [email protected] - erm, then memorise it ><

Seriously though, you'll obviously have to write it down - but keep it in your wallet or somewhere that's never away from your person.

On a more serious note, don't share accounts, don't download suspicious things, and don't leave your account logged in when people have access to it :P

I have to say that if you gave your login info to anyone, even your BFF (lol), you are one gullible soul. What would possess a person to give that info out? Under what circumstance(s) would I give mine out? None. There is no reason to give this info to anyone.

Geez, people. Anyone old enough to work a mouse and keyboard knows this by now.

Change your password and contact A-Net immediately. Run a virus and keylogger scan on your computer.

I have to agree. Giving password information out to anybody, for anything...game, website details etc, is just asking for trouble. You unfortunately, only have yourself to blame.

If you hadn't given out your password/login details to anyone and this happened, then there would have been nothing you could have done about it. But as it happens you did, so you will always have that branded at you.
