I don't even want to try Heroes' Ascent anymore. It sucks because any HA guilds want r3+ which you can't get because groups won't let you in. This group I joined didn't even care about my build they just wanted rank. I was the one that made the comment about the Zaishen because I usually get a laugh when someone uses /zrank to me. I have little patience for that stupid gamer mentality.

HA has had rank discrimination 1 month after HA was invented. And your lucky if all they want is R3... Normally I see GLF R6+ w/vent

Ever tried to join a DoA pug below R10 : \? Not much different, really.

Honestly, rank doesn't mean anything to me. If anything, it's to show that you've "been in the game" for awhile on now. But I will say I'm a bit impressed when I see someone's phoenix.

moar "im not r3 yet, lets all forget about fame requirements till i get r3, kthxbai" QQ threads?
edit: im sure they cared about your build, but why would they accept you when they could get a different person with higher rank to play the same build? its the way ppl play in HA, and you can either get r3 the same way everyone else did, or stop playing HA, at least in pugs. the rank discrimination is not gonna change.

Rank means one of 2 things to me anyway..

Either you are really good at PvP

Or

You bought fame at 3k per fame

but to answer your question, NO, rank means nothing to me as long as I am having fun.

Not any more, but it's worth taking the best you can. PvP experience is PvP experience no matter the build.

Do what the rest of the unranked people do, have no title on and spam for r8+. You're clearly not a noob, just unranked, so you'll have no problem running a group of people who are very experienced, right? Of course!

and how do you suggest the OP gain any fame? by buying it with in game money? by buying it online? playing sway and such shitty builds scarping together 1-2 fame per run because any team can beat sway? im genuinely curious

I lol'd. I'm pretty sure your build doesn't matter because it'll change. Maybe... people want to win? Clearly you have zero experience in PvP from what you said, so I'm just going to go off on a tangent and say that it was a good decision to reject you.

Go join a lower level group before you start.

If you're as experienced as someone in a R6+ group or something, make a group yourself and if you know what you're talking about, people should stay. Haven't HA'ed in a while though, don't know if the stupidity has increased.

Well instead of creating a forum and whining about rank discrimination, you could be out in HA creating a group and earning fame like the rest of us did.

Rank means nothing to me, except that the person in question spends more time grinding their title than others.

not at all. i would rather have a r3, that got his fame by balanced, then a r10 that got his fame by sway

too many people get high ranks by swaying, it doesnt mean their good at all

Call it 'grind' or whatever else you like, but this 'grind' undoubtedly means experience. That is what rank means, experience. Not necessarily skill.

A r6 person will most likely know what to do in the Antechamber and be familiar with the tactics, whereas an unranked person will probably run around clueless like a headless chicken. wut.

Don't really see much difference in a R3 and a R6, only thing is that one has done a lot more battles, honestly the R3 is probably just as skilled if not better then the R6, but that doesn't play that often or something. Basically by R3 if not sooner you've experienced almost everything HA has to offer in understanding the maps, game play and such.

Of course rank matters. I personally dont care about it at all, because I dont play HA, but if I did, I'd be looking to form a group of players roughly equal to my skill level or better, hence the recruitment minimums.

Its not unlike forming a PvE party and kicking those who wont ping their builds, who fail to type in anything but caps, who wont adjust their builds to the request of the party, who shout "Go! Go! Go!" without any patience for party formation, etc. I've had very successful PUGs ever since Prophecies and its rare that I have been in a bad one, but to do so, you have to discriminate a little when recruiting, kick when you have to, be careful who you join, etc. Same goes for PvP, although personally I'd prefer not to PUG HA if I played there, instead playing within a PvP guild, where you dont need to worry about rank at all, since everyone knows everyone else.

If you dont meet the rank requirements of forming parties, lower the rank requirement and try to form your own. It would suck in the early going, to be sure, but its how one progresses in experience and rank. That or join a decent PvP guild and be patient and willing to listen, learn and accept criticism.

Rank does mean something to me. The higher one's rank, the less respect I have for the person.

I've met some rather nice r6+ people, but 80% of the ones I've met have all had their heads crammed so far up their posteriors that they see with their toes.

Most of them try to say "work for your fame like we worked for ours" but it's much easier said than done... Especially when the average rate for gaining fame is about 1 every 2 hours or so.
