Isle of the Nameless....PvP?
Lady Raenef
Okay, a lot of us will go here to test out skills. The problem is, now they've implemented the PvP and PvE system, which throws this place out of whack.
You can't test PvP skills here to see effectiveness. Those who are blind will be fooled when they try to use them. Unless I'm uninformed, there isn't a way to counter this.
My suggestion(s):
1. When you are in the Great Temple of Balthazar, in the skills menu, an extra button appears to switch from PvE to PvP skills. Anything that has a PvP alternate will swap the PvE version. This will allow testing of both.
Too complicated?
2. Give the PvP status to Great Temple of Balthazar as well, making PvP skills fill in the spots, as the Isle of the Nameless was more focused towards PvP practice over PvE.
Unfair to PvE players? Revert back to suggestion 1.
It's not a huge problem that needs to be dealt with or the game will explode on us, but it's simply a minor annoyance that can be cured easily. It would help those who are more strictly PvP generate our build ideas with appropriate damage and effects whilst using these. If we wanted to test PvE builds, most of us go to the appropriate spot (i.e., if it's farming, you go to the farm you want to farm, correct?) to test out the build. PvP, Isle of the Nameless is all we have to avoid angry people.

I noticed that the other day too when trying something, and ye, i agree, it would be very useful and im in favour of it, but im sorry to say, like nearly everything in Gw1, Anet wont deem the change important enough to use coder time on, simply judging it as not having a big enough effect, dispite it only taking a couple of minutes to code...
would love to see it, but i doubt it will happen, wish they cared more for the game rather than business, cant blame em really

Would only be logical to make the Great Temple and the Isle a PvP area. You are on the 'Battle Isles' for a reason, there's no PvE to do there.

Anet could use the toggle buttons for normal and hard mode to switch between pve and pvp skill sets.
Moreover i would like to see this implemented for the guild halls too. It's pretty annoying not being able to see the proper skill effects while preparing a build for pve.

They've mentioned they were looking into a toggle option.

I recall some dev saying they are aware of that issue and looking for solutions.

I really do hate this pve/pvp separation

Been suggested before, but /Signed regardless.
It'll be good for testing spikes etc. in PvP, but for the damage 'n'... shit.

they can always add extra areas to the game so i think an entrance from GToB to "Isle of the Nameless (PvE)" and a seperate one for "Isle of the Nameless (PvP)" should be quite possible if adding some sort of toggle switch is too much for Anet.

Why wouldn't they make Isle PvP? Seems stupid that it's supposed to be a PvP outpost with PvE versions. /signed because the OP is right.

its too much hard work for anet, there busy with gw2 ( witch we will know nothing about untill 2009 it seems). maybe there just lazy iz my guess mmmmhmmm

/signed would make things better. I like suggestion one the best though.

/signed for suggestion 1.
Or just make it so PvP-Only characters always use the PvP version (if it's not like that already; I don't remember) so people can just test PvP stuff on their PvP slot and PvE stuff on PvE chars.
