Can Onyx staff salvage onyx?

Checked the wiki's but nothing was stated that they could actually be salvaged for onyx. I was just curious before I put a highly salvageable inscription on my staff and get a bunch of dust.

As the wiki says,
Common: Piles of Glittering Dust
Rare: ?

At this time its unknown but very well could have a small chance just like, Geodes, Ruby Djinn Essences, etc. can all turn into gems with luck.

I HIGHLY doubt it. Some materials can not be obtained through drops or salvaging. For instance, Deldrimor Steel and Elonian Leather can only be obtained by crafting them. Although Onyx is quite similar to Rubies and Sapphires, I doubt it would be an item that can be obtained through salvaging. I rank Onyx the same as Ecto and Obsidian Shards.... nothing can produce them from salvaging, outside of things you crafted with them.

The official wiki says Common salvage Pile of Glittering Dust. There is no rare. So no?

Probably not. Things don't make that much sense in GW.

I got some elonian leather when i salvaged my vabbian armor last night.

Edit: Oh, i thought you meant crafting from an artisan >.<

I don't think so. I believe it only salvages the dust.
