you have to be an elite guru meaning you have to pay for extra stuff

if you join the guru group at the elite level (like me) you will get the honor of having the option of a signature (the directions for becoming an elite are on the home page I believe)....

Also, moderators, super moderators, and admins can add signatures, but you're not likely to get one of those positions anytime soon.

FYI, the paid membership began as a way to supply funds to upgrade the server (how soon we forget, the slooow days). The extras are a thank-you for the support. So, for less than the cost of a video game, you can have a signature.
