Lets have a talk.... Why do you play GW right now?
ManxMann
I've been playing since just after it's release. I'm a PvE'er, I play for 2 reasons. First, I want to come up with my own builds that work, I detest having to use the cookie cutter builds to get thru an area.
Secondly, I realized a while back that "GW giveth and GW taketh away". I have found myself taking a mental count of all of the things that have been taken away from the players over the years. I am utterly amazed that GW is even considering a sequel, with the loss of player base that this game has endured.
I was once told that people play these games for a steady stream of rewards. Be they bragging rights(titles), uber weapons, massive amounts of wealth, etc... For me the stream has ended a long time ago, I play because I have a good guild, which makes for good conversation on any given night. We can usually find somthing in-game to do while we talk. The game really dosen't matter anymore. When it dies or when a replacement comes along, even though I think this is the best game out there....I won't miss what those 3 at GW who are calling the shots have turned it in to.

1. I still don't have my 30 titles on my main.
2. I'm aiming to have the highest gamer rank ever.
3. Friends, sometimes.

AoC sucks
But seriously, I love Guild Wars and though I may not play all aspects of it anymore, it is still my favourite game.

to be honest, if i wouldn't ever get my boyfriend into GW, i would never come back to it after my 4-5 months break...
when i play with people its for pvp with my guy and friends from the guild, when they call me and ask to run something, or when i log on to see whats going on and see a GvG getting ready, tehn sure ill hop in for the ride.
but when i play PvE its a completely single player game for me, mainly to kill time and relax after work...

I just ended a 2 month stretch playing AoC and i'm bored outta my mind with it. So.. i'm back to playing gw for a bit. How long, I have no clue since I left gw for Aoc cuz I was bored to death of gw.
Monkey Slayer
Was mainly playing so I could finish all campaigns. Now that I finished Factions to complete that, not sure what I'll do. Next thing I guess'll be protector titles for the games. Then Carto or EotN titles I suppose. I can never seem to get burned out because I have all my friends on there since none of my RL friends ever talk to me over break.
Taurucis
I mostly chat, alliance battle with my brother, and watch my miniature Mallyx crawl about.
An excerpt from one of my typical Guild Wars days:
I love Mallyx. Why is his butt so spikey? I mean, what reason is there for Mallyx to have such a spikey butt? Self defense? Maybe, but who would attack his butt? Either way, he's very fluffy and absolutely adorable *cuddles Mallyx*
And yes, I can never resist flaming any idiot that asks for a good verbal thrashing. That's why I am often found in GToB AD1, or SJM AD1.

I like to take my monk or ele, find a PUG doing anything at all, and turn what could have been a massacre into rampaging success. It really makes my day to help people. Also sometimes I pick a skill I want for one of my 7 characters and the fight to the boss or trainer (nope, never used a tome) keeps me occupied for days.
Nessar
Chatting with friends, the occasional vanquish, moving chars further in campaigns when bored, AB when I feel like killing luxies, and titles every once in a while...But mostly chatting
pigdestroyer
I just log on to play a few RA matches.
Hyper.nl
I usually just play some Aspenwood for fun, especially when I'm low on time.
In weekends I do high-end missions from time to time; getting rewards for my Hall of Monuments. I also have been busy with title hunting in the past.
At the same time I slowly but surely gather some wealth by playing and trading which allows me to buy some elite armors and HoM weapons etc.

Timotheos
I play because there are a few items that I want.
I also play because I want to have 3 prot titles and EoTN completed on my two non-main chars.
It's fun =]

shoyon456
I play because I don't have GWAMM yet, or a full HoM. GW goes into its' coffin after that.
But really, I play because I like my dervish.... ALOT.

Carnage, Get Good guild that does things you would enjoy doing, i've tried pretty much everykind of guilds and i like my current one,
it was fun make Hfff Guild with friend and in 6months we owned HzH.
Chat with your friends, do some activities with your guild for example i love doing Sorrow Furnance with prophecies only builds,
it reminds from old good times, do someting that you hardly never do, everyone has someting like that.

Titles and AB and hanging out with friends, really. I get titles on my monk, help people out (because I did actually enjoy doing a few things like some of the HM dungeons, and it's good to be able to play them again without Ursan), and relax by ABing on my PvP ele.
Dronte
Only because of HA, and RA.

Actually kind of reminds me of school. Enter school, glance at empty classrooms (because of all the people late/absent), troll the christians (yay history class), learn stuff, then go home and... play Dawn of War. |
EPO Bot
As soon as my monk is done with vanquishing and gets some leather bounds books, i might do master of the north. And then it will probably become a casual pvp thing.

To give stuff to friends
RedNova88
Several things keep me playing.
1. Still fun
2. Friends= automatically fun
3. The lore
4. The PvP... Sometimes...
5. Making new builds then loling while I get a lecture from someone who thinks I care.
That pretty much sums it up for me. GW is still fresh and fun for me after a year. I don't care if people rant and whine about how bad the game is supposedly. I have fun, and don't give a crap about other peoples opinions.

Try something you've never done before or something completely random perhaps.
I haven't played GW for more than a few days at a time for a few months now (i.e, taking a break). Wanting to get back into it, but I've got something I want to finish off first.

I dunno, I'm lookin for something new to do. What do you guys do with your GW time? Oh I also like to talk, rant, and gossip. Let me know... |

I've not played in over 1 year due to the fact that it became boring and the constant Anet nerfing. I now play EVE Online which is seriously good and worth the subscription per month. The best thing with this is that I can make loads of isk via mining/trading/stockmarket/sub-contracting and then buy a 30/60 day time card with the isk, no real money needed!!
Guild Wars was good once, but that seems a long time ago now *sniff*

I still play the game itself, strictly PvE. The way the game works just appeals to me, always has. Plus, I still think it looks great, 3 years on. C'est la vie.
Ate of DK
To play PvP. Other games have more interesting PvE.
*Gem*
I am playing at the moment because my desktop died and I am waiting for a new one to be built. Guild Wars runs on my laptop, everything else I was playing does not.
ChaoticCoyote
I'm not playing.
Haven't played much since last fall.
Don't intend to play much. I loved the game up until Nightfall; ANet's changes since then (no full hero parties, cheat codes, Ursan) don't fit what I like.
So why am I here? Watching for GW2 news.
What do I play? WoW and LOTRO.

I have still yet to beat factions and the nightfall campaign
i only just picked up guild wars about 2 months ago, and i have lost a bit of interest in farming, but if i get bored of that, i just have to go get a bit further in that campaign and i can go get a bit further in it
but yea..... i go between TF2, COD4, xbox 360, and a bunch of other games, so there may be times where i dont play guild wars for a few days, but i try to get a mission/quest done once a day
currently trying to get done with the nightfall campaign, then ill go do factions :P

Finishing up campaigns, getting some titles on my ranger, and mostly cause I still have fun with the game.

The only reason I play at this stage of the game's life is my Guild and guidlies. We have way too much fun to stop playing now
leeky baby
GVG and RA
Spend money to fill up my HOM - Make my warrior look pretty.

GW has become kind of a time-killer for me (i.e. something to do when I just want to kill some time relaxing). I still play because I still have things I haven't completed, so it's somewhat fun. I also play for nostalgic reasons too. Oh, and also because there is no subscription... so some months I can play just a couple hours and not feel like I'm wasting that month's payment.
bryann380
I rarely play GW anymore. I was trying to get my spear assassin's exp as high as I could without a single death. Got very close to 2 million before the unfortunate happened... but that was months ago. That specific goal was the only thing holding my interest to the game. So now, I mainly play D2 again after a 3 year haitus, Rappelz and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3.
doudou_steve
pvp, titles, for fun.
