Imbagon with Discord Spammer Heroes
samerkablamer
hi guys I always play an imbagon with either paraway (made by ractoh) or sabway (made by sab). I have been wanting to try out discord way since everyone says that it is better and faster than sabway. The only problem is, it seems like most people using discord spamming heroes use caster profesions with assassin's promise and 3 pve skills, and then optionals on each profession. I was wondering if it is possible to play as a paragon with discord heroes with effect, and if it is possible, a build would be nice. So far, using an imbagon doesnt seem very good because it does not apply long lasting conditions or good hexes with short recharge. I can run any bar as long as it uses a primary paragon. I can also get the weapons needed to run the build. Thanks

Blazing Spear + Focused Anger is somewhat decent, nice damage too. Barbed Spear if you want a longer lasting condition, but pretty useless when it comes to damage.
Hexes are the bigger hassle. Putrid Bile is a very good one but you can't rely on it to be placed on everything you target with that 12sec recharge. Parasitic Bond is the most spammable hex in the game, but sometimes I've noticed heroes randomly casting it on as many targets as they can (same behavior as enemy mobs). You can sorta fix that by making sure you constantly call targets.
Curses has some AoE hexes and require only a minor spec into them. Suffering has a good range and it's pretty spammable, but it costs 15e and the degen from it is useless. Shadow of Fear also recharges fast, but is only adjacent range and has an ugly cast time. It's good to have hexes with not-so-long cast times since Discord relies on them to do damage. The benefit of being a caster in a Discord team is you can reliable hex/condition everything so you don't have to waste skillslots/attribute points on your heroes just to meet Discord's reqs. But as a paragon, you have some decent condition options.

This is the dicord build I use with my AP Me/A:

Notice that all the necessary skills are within the heroes, so there are no dependencies on the character.
Personally, I prefer the hexes and conditions from the curse line, [[Putrid Bile] and [[Rotting Flesh] are just convenient hex and condition since they are in Death magic. You only need a 10 to Death magic, a 9 or more to Soul Reaping, and you can pump Curse to about 10 also, with runes. This leaves you to about 10 for restoration heals if you want, although I would prefer to have splinter weapon somewhere on my Imbagon team. As long as you have 10 to Death, Putrid Bile lasts for 15s which is longer than its recharge of 12s.
[[Barbs] last for 30s and [[Shadow of Fear] for 22s at 10 Curse, [[Enfeebling Blood] and [[Weaken Armor] last for about 15s at that level which is much longer than the amount of time they take to recharge. Barbs and Shadow of Fear also have short 5s recharges cycle so even if they get removed, you can easily re-apply them again, furthermore they are more useful than Putrid Bile which has a longer 12s recharge time.
I dont really like Putrid Bile myself, which was why I replaced it with better hexes from the curse line.
That said, I currently use an orders build with my Imbagon since I like the fast adrenaline recharge:

Boring but crazy effective. Losing SY or TNTF on your Imbagon? Doesn't sound appealing.
It only goes to show that you dont need to contribute much for Discordway to work well, doesn't mean it is optimal though.

If you die, switch back to imbagon, more defence, slower killing.
As I said in another topic, I don't like it, I don't run it, but it works.

As I said in another topic, I don't like it, I don't run it, but it works. PvE in general is quite forgiving, a good discordway build can work even if your main character just sits there and not contribute to offense or defense, but that would not be optimal.
You are giving up on an Imbagon's god mode defense to kill faster so you are not really using your paragon to its maximum potential.

As a paragon you don't have much choice. You either run a good paragon build that does not synergise with discord, or you run a weird stuff like Assassin's Promise for the sake of synergy.
The bottom line is: don't run discord with Paragon unless for some reason you really want to.
