I know the Role Playing District has already been shown, but im just expanding the idea, suggesting some form of working mechanism

Area
1. Have a role playing district thats accessible to all campaign characters excluding pvp characters (much like temple of balthazar except without pvp characters)

2. Make a Guild Hall upgrade that can turn the guild hall into a similar district at the leader's command

Functions:
1. Maximum 100 or manageable people allowed in district(if overflow, make new 1)
2. Gives player a toggle button much like HM/NM in party formation to Accept Fights
3. Have a button that allows others to manually attack other players
4. When one player is slain in the district, does not count as actual death, and have a button of (resurrect) to manually resurrect.
5. Allow show weapons
6. No Henchmen/Heros in district
7. Assign buttons to Walk/Run/Jump that ONLY work in this district

Thankyou.

I've totally seen that district before!!! It was called Neverwinter Nights...

All sarcasm aside, I dig some intense role playing every now and then, but GW is not that kind of game. If you're looking for role-playing opportunities, go check out 4th edition D&D. They have an online system to connect RP-ers worldwide.

I like RP too, but yeah, not only is GW not really geared towards that, you also don't seem to be suggesting that.

1) I think that is the limit anyway, but I could be wrong
2)You can accept fights now, do a scrimmage
3)I thought this *wasn't* for PvP characters, yet you want to PvP?
4) Ok...res shrine. Also in your scrimmage
5)Any explorable or even...scrimmage?
6)Just don't use them
7)A *huge* coding project (because GW2 stuff I'm certain won't just plop into GW1 real well)

So, unless I'm missing something major here, you can already "RP" in any district you like, and if you want combat, go scrimmage in your GH. Not perfect, but until GW comes out with an editor like NWN to create your own environment (I can dream), the suggestions really don't change much.

I'm pretty sure we already have it, and it's not even limited to one district. So roleplay your heart out, just don't add useless shit cause you think it'd be "cool".

All your basically asking for is, "dueling" aka 1v1, weapons in dists, removal of henchmen/heroes, and running/jumping. All which have been suggested before, and no making a separate district for it doesn't make it okay.

If someone hat is nor roleplaying bothers you, just ignore them.

So a change to the Buddy list would be better.

This is just a bad idea that won't add anything to the game.

other than the adding of jump (which is not possible with the current game engine and coding) everything you mentioned can already be done - hence no need for any changes

cheers

GW was made to be a PvP oriented game anyway, wait for GW2

So you want a town that PvE characters can go to?

So make the guild hall like a town? Huh?

It...it's sort of just like a town as it is now.

We can already have multiple people in a town thus this suggestion is invalid.

I'm pretty sure that's been suggested before... Because other MMOs have it doesn't necessarily make it a good thing.

What's the point in it then?

Player 1: "Oh X Necro X I just killed you lololol"
Player 2: "lolol but I can use ma res skill"
Player 2: "lul I'm alive!!!!!"

Being killed should count for something. Having it not even count a death would be completely, utterly pointless.

Only thing so far that either I've understood or has been a vaguely acceptable idea.

I honestly don't know whether to close this thread or not. It just seems like an excuse to suggest things that have previously been suggested, but then there is some merit in a "non-hero/henchman" mode...
