Looking for Portable GW
Sol Solus
Could anyone please pm me a zipped Portable GW or post a rapidshare link? Preferably of version 0.3.4.
My laptop was stolen and I don't plan on buying another one for a while so I want to play Guild Wars on friends' computers off my external without installing. I'm just going to do a -image install somewhere, uninstall, and go rogue mobile after that.
Thanks to anyone who actually still has it lying around and is willing to help.

Wee bit of necromancy here, but better than making a new thread I guess.
I need it too. So, if one of you could PM it or a working link of it to me, I'd be forever grateful.

I'm not sure that it's possible, but I'm moving this to tech where they can probably tell you for sure.

I put the wiki page up for deletion as the source page for the program no longer exists. You just need to hope that someone has a copy lying around on their HD

Can't you just make a shortcut to the portable drive you are using? As i just copied my GW folder from my old pc to the new one and it just works like it should. But it would probably more difficult :P

FYI - you can play Guild Wars off of an external Hard drive. I actually did it myself for a few times, while I was between computers awhile back. Just get a copy of GW onto your external and you can take it anywhere and play it on any computer, without any hassles.

you can always download the client from the official website too

I got an 8GB flash drive. I want to put Guild Wars on it and run it from the flash drive so that it leaves no remnants on whichever computer I use it on. The official client won't allow me to do this. It installs it wherever, leaving registry keys and more, which probably requires administrative privileges.
If there's a way around this (that will actually work) that doesn't involve praying for a copy of the Portable GW program , I'd be glad to hear it lol
This still requires installation on each computer, though, correct?

If anyone has it can you send it to me as well? Shouldn't be to hard to recreate though if you know how to program. All you have to do is create the GW registry entries for the path where your USB drive is and delete those entries again when GW exits. I don't know how to program however.

I did some searching and the guy who created it and made it available for several years doesn't seem to be using the same id on the internet anymore. He always used gstuartj but hasn't posted on any forums, deviant art, etc since about March of 2007.
Guess he graduated and the real world caught up to him.
P.S. The program wasn't that popular because affordable flash drive size didn't grow as fast as GW dat file.
