Zealous Weapons

Can a monk with a spear with a zealous mod make net energy while in combat and healing? Obviously I would have to have a weapon to switch off of while not throwing the spear but practically could I make energy? Wiki says yes but that doesn't count when I'm casting.

best use for a zealous mod is on a barrage spammer.
Try [peace and harmony] or [glyph of lesser energy] instead, you'll be better off then with a zealous spear.

Losing that pip of regen means you lose 1 energy every three seconds, less if you swap sets for every cast. If you can hit one per three seconds you're breaking even. You might not play as well as normal if you're focusing on chucking spears though.

Not worth it - you would have to hit all of them and there is too much Blockway around, even a single Aegis wrecks you. It requires a lot more attention to pick proper targets for this, spears have pretty short range so as a monk you're usually only able to hit their frontilne if you want to stay back. And that frontline will either be moving fast so you will miss often or will be beating YOU so you should kite or cast guardians or something. And there's usually hardly enough time for all those weapon swaps, there are only 4 easily accessible sets and switching sets is often lagged.
So most often it's not worth it, but you can keep a zealous spear in inventory for use in some rare cases (stationary NPCs are good targets)

ya with focusing on healing and keeping the party alive i doubt you'd have time to focus on throwing a spear. The loss of 1e every 3 secs can be offset by attacking one target every 3s atleast but this is again hard to do when your focused on keeping your party allive

The caster spaer is a for the mods, not a weapon, dont wanna draw the aggro to yourself
