So...is this a good thing or a bad thing?

You shouldn't take a specific profession just to take a bit advantage of an already useless skill.

The skill slows the overall dps of the bear lower than all other pets. So is that offset? I don't know if it would. Combine that with the hassle it is to tame a bear. And with the fact that pets kinda suck anyway.

Pets don't suck, but brutal mauling does.

Yeah, Brutal Mauling actually makes the Bear a WORSE pet, because it wastes time with no benefit :\
