A friend and I had set out to do the LB/Sunspear farming run, and just for fun decided we'd try to vanquish the whole area - hadn't done vanquishing as a wurm before...
We ran into a problem with some Margonites and Undead up on a rocky area not too far from where you enter the area. We just could not get at them, not as wurms, not reverting to "human" players either. GWiki says that the wurms can use one of the Junundu skills to knock over a pillar (we found the pillar) that would make a bridge between two rocky areas, and you could cross over on that pillar.
Nice idea...but, uh...that skill is adrenaline based. And once we couldn't "reach" any more foes to fight them we couldn't generate adrenaline.
So, is the "trick" to take that pillar down really early?
It was so irritating. We had like, one margonite and two undead left to complete the vanquish and just couldn't reach them.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that was a bit of a programming brainfart.
I was fortunate that some of the Margonites from across the 'bridge' were still alive and I aggroed those to gain adrenalin from damage.
If there's nothing to gain adrenalin from then it's back to town and starting over.

yep, if you can't maintain the adrenaline you're s.o.l.

The pillar should stay broken if the player has broken it before (as in Anet should change it from the way it works now).
Plain and simple.

you can beat on the margonites from the ground...when you have enough adrenaline go over to the pillar...there are enough of them to kill off to gain plenty (and more since some of them are bowmen who enjoy interrupting the smash of the pillar ). Just remember to do the pillar before you kill them all off (its almost impossible to kill them all but you can get quite a few, especially the warriors and dervishes---they love to come close to the edge and get thwacked by a wurm!)

My personal approach has been to pin hench next to the pillar and then lure the group of Undead just beyond. Done it a few times and not had any problems with interrupts or loss of adrenalin.

I shot us in the foot because we didn't set out planning to vanquish...learned our lesson we did! We didn't take out the pillar when it was easy to do so.
And could've saved time and aggravation just going back in and starting over.
Weird that you can't target that, and that other than a note in gwiki there's not much to tell you you need to do it.
Thanks everyone.
