as many of you know shadowstepping has been destroyed recently with the aftercast
i suggest a kind of expertise for shadowstepping for assassins because assassins are seriously getting destroyed with these nerfs to shadowstepping
maybe bind the shadowstepping to shadow arts or something but i want shadowstepping back so assassins can still be well used in PvP

Shadowstepping is one of the broken things in GW. They just had to do it.

The're have to be a drawback for shadowstepping or it's broken.

If they remove the aftercast, they have to put in something. What would you want ?? Sac. life ? exhaustion ? a condition on you for shadowstepping ? or offensive shadowstep (non-attack skills are disable for xx sec.) and defensive shadowstep (attack skills are disable for xx sec.) ??

You could just learn how to position yourself properly like every other class does.

Or... you could learn to appreciate the fact that shadowsteps are unpredictable if you're on the receiving end, and therefore spiced things up a bit.

That was part of the fun of coming up against a sin. Now it doesn't matter if they bamf in, you can stop whatever they are likely to do at that point...

the amount of effort/skill needed to counter a shadowstepping sin greatly exceeds the amount of the effort/skill needed for a sin to shadowstep. when the skill requirement for the counter greatly exceeds the skill in question, that skill will have to be nerfed.

btw, if you still want to shadowstep properly, use [[shadow prison]/[[dark prison]

or, be kool like me and use [[shadow walk]+[[shove]

plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plzplz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz bring back shadowstepping ffs...

i swear.. i thought the sin class was destroyed when they changed black lotus to a lead and reduced the damage SEVERLY on HotO and made recharge on sin spells centuries longer etc etc.

1234567 combos are weak, kd locking with moebius HotO and moebius builds in general dont kill anymore its feeble damage unless you go /E with a conjure, SA sins are so boring rinsing the same 123 unblockable chain, there is no way to manipulate your game without kd's/interrupts & shadow stepping. Now i cant even shadowstep insta-rupt <--- the very source of my pro'ness has been taken away.

The only thing that kept me playing sin was shadowstepping after the first set of big nerfs especially shadow walk because its a stance but now... sigh all that is left are crappy combos which your cat can execute by walking over the keyboard.

I saw someone suggest before that shadow steps be moved to crit stike attribute with 50% to fail unless you have 4 or more in crits so they cant be abused by secondary sins. This is a perfect solution. GO GO GO do it now!

You should make another option:
No, kill shadowsteps.

I'll vote for that one.

Wow all you people do is cry about how Anet nerfed the build you were using when all you are really saying is that I am bad at the game and instead learning how to play I just want something overpowered to make up for my lack of skill. Shadowsteps still work fine you just need to learn how to adapt. I use [BH] in RA all the time and I can still kill without any problems, learn to adapt and quit your bitching because if you haven't figured out by now, NOBODY CARES especially Anet.

As opposed to be badly used in pvp? how about "never see light of day in pvp?", I'm for the latter.

agreed, the 1st thing to do would be to move them under the class specific attribute, retro over all things that need to be nerfed, by being used by secondaries. instead of going straight to the direct nerf.

but, then again, i also feel that if you can't adapt, then you dont survive. learn other ways to kill/survive or play another class.

Let shadowstepping die. It is a broken mechanic in a game like Guild Wars and it should have never seen the light of days. I thought it was good too in the past, but when you get better and begin to really understand how the game works, you quickly realize that shadowstepping is bad for the game.

Nerf them harder. Shadowsteps allowed bad players to get kills.

/signed, its fun ffs

Shadowstep : For every rank in critical arts your shadowstep after cast is reduced by xx% (or some kind of fraction of a second)

half cast range. longer aftercast. longer cast. shorter hex duration.

just remove it already, it IS the worst idea that ever made it into the game because it breaks every 'line' in PvP allowing a frontline to instantly get by all midline chars and attack a monk directly (see dervs, wars). this also totally kills positioning, one of the most important aspect of gw.

bah izzy is just a bad skillbalancer that hates sins
all he does is nerf the offensive shadowsteps but anything along the lines of [return] is left alone
an assassin is made for hit and run killing
but with this nerf it's run and keep running after your target to kill it bah

Shadowsteps defy positioning. Shadowsteps allow even the worst players to score kills in competetive play. Shadowstepping is a broken mechanic that is mostly unfixable.

Whether or not it's a 'Sin using it, it's still a broken mechanic. Yes, kill defensive ones too.

And for the record I play across all professions.

Or maybe you could just use a run skill, like you know, everyone else?

Shadowstepping can turn a terrible player into a killing machine at the click of a button. Do yourself a favor and ditch the shadowsteps.

hell no, assassins dont need to shadowstep and kill in 6 secs.
