I just saw in the thread that these things are gone? I have one sup rune of health on all of my hero's on 3 toon's. That is like 10 of them. I also have the -50 for the "Profession" example my Vekk I set us a FIRE Ele so he has a sup rune of fire -50hp. I have 3 Vekk's so I have 3 of them. My war was 2 sup runs on him, Strength and sword. I supplement this this the skill that raises my heath by 240 or so.

If this is the case are my runes then collector's items? Can you not get them from the trader anymore?

My computer died a horrible death so I am waiting for dell to deliver me my new tower today!!! WOOT.

(I am at work)

-50 runes were a part of the old rune system where the benefits went as follows:

Minor Runes, +1 attribute, -25 hp
Major Runes, +2 attribute, -50 hp
Superior Runes, +3 attribute, -75 hp

ANET changed this system well over a year ago (I think around ~20 months ago) to make minor and major runes significantly more useful.

I think the real issue here is, why do you use Sup Sword and Sup Str on a Warrior? You shouldn't even be USING a Sup... (except Vig, obviously)

OK I was around then but I did not have enough gold saved up to buy the sup rune so I did by the -50 hp ones. I will have to check them out. I had them in storage and when I got GW:EN out of storage they went.

I got most of them by salvaging them off of the drops that I got doing the missions. I never sold them because I would loose gold if I sold them to the merchant and then bought them back again later when I created new toons.

I still have 2 or 3 sups in storage for hero's when I unlock them on new toons that I make.

I will check them out against the ones at the rune trader tonight when I get back on. Been like a week. Geesh. Come on FEDEX

I love using the sup's because they will add 3 to the attribute at only a cost of health. I run monk sometimes as secondary so I put the healing breeze on myself and then start to hack away with 16 Strength and 16 sword.

*Take that you snow wurm* *some of this*

Don't play warrior, EVER.

Your runes are a bit worse than current. I don't really know if you can use or sell them. I mean, they are useless, they take away more than runes now.

In PvE AI attacks players with the lower health first, so it may be useful to have it on a warrior.

i thought they changed that so the AI attacks the person with the lowest armor first? hence why they always ignore the W and whack the softy monk/ele/any caster

My experience is that they always attack the one with the lowest HP in HM.
Just like they always use "Grenths Balance" on the one with the moist HP.
HM enemies are stupid and are only "powerful" because their high levels.

In NM they just slam on the one that they see first...

You can't sell these old runes because no one would want em anyway. Unless you are a packrat who collects weird objects just for the heck of it.

As far as i remember, they first removed the HP loss on minors and then reduced the penalty on majors so that using two majors has benefits over one superior.

They are not stackable as far as I know. I bought 5 sup health +50 and put one on each of my pieces of armor like a year ago.

This of course is STUPID cause they are NON-Stacking. I had no idea that that ment. I thought that you could not put 2 on the same piece of armor. To make matters worse I put other runes right on top of the others. There was a warning box that popped up but I can not read.

This thread is full of misinformation and bad ideas.

There were never minor runes with penalty, in fact in early betas Major runes (+2) didn't have any penalty either so they were strictly better than minors. Later Major runes were given a -50hp penalty (I'm not talking about +attr/-energy runes which never made it into final game) and it remained this way for quite a long time.

Much later they decided to rebalance the Major runes to make them viable, so they changed the -50hp into -35hp for all Major runes. The change didn't affect existing runes, only new drops.

Now the -50hp Majors can't drop anymore and there are few of them left in existance. For almost all uses you should equip the new -35 ones, as they're simply better.
The main use of -50hp runes outside being a collector rarities is in swap armor pieces for 55 or less hp farming builds, swapping an armor piece into a -50hp major is often better than using a -20hp offhand.

Yeah I saved one old major aswell. They changed a long time ago from -50 to -35 and I decided to keep one.
And I don't get why people tell him he's bad, that's NOT what this topic is about. If he likes playing 16/15 in attributes, just let him be.
