you should be watching your energy and health with ashes though. you lose all your +e/hp from weapons, so you might be useless for a while (or sac with them). if you don't use any skills such as caretakers, take ashes with a short affect that you can use quickly. like blind was mingson (drop -> run in mob blind -> run out).
I'm really talking about PvP more, but I guess the same can apply to PvE in a sense. And what about Protective Was Kaolai? ![]() Vehemence
Thx guys for those suggestions. I guess I'll just need to get 40/40 set for channeling and resto line only. How about using martial weapon for +5 energy & shield for extra armors for spirit spammers? I guess that will work.
Tyla
To be honest I would just use some random weapon, as Moko said.

Like others have said, Rits don't have to worry about weapons as much as other professions.
One note, though... If you're going Resto, don't worry about half-cast time MODs. Most Resto spells are very swift. Tek

Yes, some of the Restoration spells are swift but most of your weapon spells have at least a 5 second recharge. 5 seconds is a long time when your weapon spells are on a timer. I swap between a 20/20 Channeling Celestial Compass and a 20/20 Restoration Celestial Comass, a +5e Votaic Spear with +30HP mod and a Draconic Aegis +30hp with +10AR v Peircing. I also have the +20% sword if I'm running any enchantments in my build. Keep in mind that the only PvP that I do is AB and RA. I am mainly into PvE so these weapon sets serve me well. Bauholz Kerbe
With the builds i've used for channeling i've found 40/40 sets pretty useless because of the fast recharge times of most channeling magic skills, and i use renewing surge along with pwk plus caretakers charge and also through a spirit or two down and use essence strike i never run out of energy and i'm constantly spamming damage so basically i love my build but back to your weapon set i like tek use a channeling celestial compass but mines +30 and armor +10 armor peircing (haven't gotten around to taking it off yet) and use a brass spear with +5en and +30 hp and i also switch between a 20/20 channeling offhand and a sheild with +30 +10 armor to fire but thats just me most of the time i stay on my first set

Staves do a much better job at increasing enchantments.
I still suggest you use the 40/40 sometimes though, since there are times when your item spell will be down, faster casting and recharge is always helpful aswell. Tek
Yea, I know they do. But caster weapons look cooler. Also, I spent a shit load of time & money collecting Req 9 Celestial Compasses for each attribute so I'd rather use the offhand than a Staff.
Bauholz Kerbe
i got Req 10 Celestial Compass' for next to nothing and yea caster weapons do look alot nicer but staff are deffinetly the way to go for efficency

Rits can often be really cheap to outfit. If you play builds with items spells often, you hardly need one at all. However, I suggest getting 40/40 sets of atleast channeling and resto, as those are the ones you will use most often.

Item spells disable weapon slots so it doesn't matter.
If you want to use the weapon slot I'd go with a bow and spliter/barrage ![]() spirit of defeat
I prefer to take 0 energy weapons / offhands.
Reason: If you cast an item spell you lose the EN the weapons give. If you have low energy then you will have a negative energy and will have to wait until it's regenerated. Tyla
Item spells only reduce you to your energy without weapons, so you just have to be smart with energy.
