Spearhead and Deathnova

Just a quick'un:

If I equip my Olias with a spear with a poisonous spearhead will it affect the duration of the poisoning from the triggering of Death Nova when his minions explode?

Edit: Oh, oh! also, how about a Barbed Spearhead and Jagged Minions? I guess thats a little less likely.

Um spearhead only affects spear attacks... it will work with apply poison cuz that poison comes from your spears (melee attacks), so on death nova it won't work

Im asking whether it transfers to a sort of "secondary" skill like death nova, which is cast by you but the poison only triggers by some outside influence.

Don't know,, i never tried that, but i guess it'll work with death nova
i also think that barbed won't work coz it's not olias attacking; it's the jagged horror

the poison and bleeding might be able to be lengthened, but think about it...

do enemies ever last long enough for the poison/bleeding to run out? maybe once or twice in HM on jotuns or bosses but thats about it. i prefer the extra buffs a staff can provide

A wise observation for PvE.

Theres few reasons I want to use a spear on my olias.

1) I can then give him both a death offhand and a spear with a +20% enchant spear.
2) My build includes barbs so I figure he might aswell trigger that aswell.
3) It looks cooler than a staff.

The spearhead isnt hugely important, but I figure +33% poison duration is better than nothing at all.

I think it does because technically you are doing the damage (you see the numbers) same reason as i think that bleeding from minion is from you. On the other hand, I know that if you put ebon battle standard of honor on the MM there is no bonus for the minions, only if they are actually in it. I suppose this could be an interesting thing to test.

Im guessing it does. It works on the spell return with a 33% cripple mod on a melee weapon.

I thought the same when I was toying around with pet builds ...

However even if you see the numbers from your pet, your weapon doesn't affect the pet attacks. A poisonous mod does not lengthen the duration of [[Poisonous Bite].

So my guess is for now: No effect; as the minion triggers it bye dieing and not you.

Second question (of pure theoretical nature):
If a ally with Death Nova on dies while having a poisonous mod equipped (obviously not a minion) would that lengthen the poison?
