In section 6, Beaver explains why an ele is not a good choice for secondary. Read that section and if you have more questions, come back here or post in the Campfire - Ritualist forum.

NOTE: My rit started out as rit/r, but I don't remember the build.

If you like being at range, consider ranger as secondary. Combining Splinter Weapon (channeling) with Barrage (ranger elite) allows tons of damage. And you can put Splinter on other party members as well.

Rits also make good minion masters, if you are into that kinda thing. They can only have 8 minions vs 10 for a necro, and a necro can animate faster... but rits have advantages from Spawning Power that the necro doesn't have.

Rit/Assassins can do surprisingly high amounts of damage utilizing Spirit's Strength combined with your choice of weapon spell.

Check for builds on pvxwiki to get more ideas. Whatever you choose, there is a lot of fun to be had with rits.

You can do all you want without using secondary class skills. However, some of the condition removal skills from Rit require a certain condition to be met (like within earshot of a spirit), and Rit has no hex removal skills. Monk and Mesmer both give nice options for dealing with hexes, and Monk a lot of easy ways to deal with conditions. Necro and Ranger also offer condition removal skills though, and Rit does have some. Ranger has spirits, but most of them won't be much use to a Ritualist. I made my Rit a Rt/N for using the minion build with Explosive Growth. However, I rarely use it, and use just Rit skills all the time.

I'd say Rt/Mo or Rt/Me for skills that don't require significant attribute investment and allow you to accomplish what you need to do.

i just need a recommendation [life][Protective was Kaolai][Splinter Weapon][Ancestors' Rage][Mend body and soul][spirit light][remove hex][Flesh of my flesh]

NOTE: [Life], [Protective was Kaolai] & [Ancestors' Rage] are not obtainable until you hit mainland so until then, you can try [Recuperation], [Generous Was Tsungrai] & [Spirit Rift].

Necro secondary is always fun.

[animate bone minions] + [explosive growth] + [boon of creation] = Factions on Easy mode

If you're level 6, other than a Hard res, just forget about the secondary skills and work on improving on what Ritualists actually do.

i just need a recommendation If you want a secondary which will give you additional defense and utility go with Mesmer or Monk. Mesmer is nice for Interrupts and Hex Removal, Monk is good for Protection Prayers and Hex Removal. All depends exactly what utility you want from your secondary.

Leave Elementalist, Assassin and Warrior secondaries alone for now. If you want to use upier's Assassin's Promise idea you can change your secondary before you get to the boss to cap it off anyway.

When I first started my Rit I took a mesmer secondary solely for [Mantra of Resolve]. I got very, very tired of having my spirits interrupted.

I fully agree with Celestial's entire post on this, Mesmer or Monk is your best bet if you're new to the profession. Learn what Ritualists are actually supposed to do before messing with gimmicky stuff.

Nightow's build is a pretty good one for getting started, too.
