Where are you starting from?
The team size for this one can help amazingly - the 4 team from Ascalon and its outposts is pretty much hopeless. When we've done this - we've run from Temple of Ages to have 8 and that was far easier. We did this first with Rangers - but havent done it many times since with qualifying characters because of the long run.
I used a Hero Ele with a 'shutdown' build that seemed to help - part of the secret seems to be to use Water Magic to slow movement, a Hero Minion Master to cover us on the run and two Hero Monks (our party was 4 human Rangers with Barrage, Pets and Interrupts). Scout the area first - it's inthe back corner outside of Frontier Gate and nothing changes for Last Day Dawns apart from monsters present but knowing where things can come from helps.
If memory serves, we made a 'stand' with the King about where he ends up as you enter - then killed the first groups that try to get him keeping the monks (or one of them pinned close to the King just in case). Once the immediately dangerous groups are down you can move away a little to cover the other groups that come from the other 'corners' of the area. Watch aggro and try to keep it tight around the King at first otherwise you'll be under too much pressure and fail.
I haven't got icons for the hero Ele Build but here's the alpha template code:

I didnt re-rune him for Water - left him set up for fire and he used an Exuro's Will - but giving him plenty of energy seemed to help. His main task was to slow down the Titans movement to give us time to move around them - and it seemed to work.
Hope this helps some and allow plenty of time for the run - about an hour I think.

I did this without any problems on my warrior with a 4 man team.
What i ran was d-slash with sy and brawling headbutt, and the heros were just normal sabway.
Try to keep the titans off the king and hold the aggro yourself, and try to keep the kings healers alive as long as possible as they are a big help.
Good luck

We ran from the Temple of Ages also, 2 players and 6 heros, can't remember what the set up was exactly, but we had 2 monks, 2 ele's and 1 warrior and 1 mm, I believe. The other player was a ranger and I was an ele.

sorry for not getting back quicker. i might try maybe yaks bend on the run which will give me 6. ToA is a long walk to frontier. but great info i will look into. thanks for the help.

My mind blast ele with utility, a standard hybrid monk hero, a good war hero with frigid armor, and a broadhead arrow epidemic ranger. Outdated with recent buffs, you can probably through something with more pwnsauce now.

For Surmia (4 person), I used sabway with my ranger, using degen interrupt build with PI and You Move Like a Dwarf the mission was pretty simple, just don't over aggro for the others, I highly recommend coming from ToA, the extra people in the party is definitely helpful, and if you can't find pugs or guildies to help the hench are at least lvl 17.

all you need is this:
A human monk with: Mantra of inscriptions, signet of devotion + rejuvenation, Blessed Signet, Life Barrier, Protective spirit, Healing breeze and the last (optional) skill is divine intervention.
A human warrior: 3 choices: Defy Pain tanker, Melandru Tanker, or conjure frost with frigid armor. I expect regular tanks know how these builds look like.
The other 2 characters are heros (don't make that face as if something fishy stinks nearby)
The first, your average Fire nuker (oldskool pure tyriaskilled build is fine) OR a dual attunement Air spiker. Both will work, it really depends on how you play.
The second: smiter/healer: Smite hex, Smite conditions, reversal of damage, Signet of Judgment, Mantra of insciptions, Signet of devotion + rejuvenation and a random rez skill of your choice.
have the bonds up at all times, when you get to adelbern, try to bond each of them as well. (if you keep in safe place and dont take aggro you CAN still heal). to get to adelbern have the tanker get full aggro of every SINGLE group of charr. the rest is selfexplaining jibberish.
One more choice you might consider is to bring 550 gold with you for the full benefit from the shrine of Lyssa (10 Morale Boost + 3 pips HP regen)
Need me to aid you?
for 1K ill be the tank + the smiter hero.
for 2K ill be the monk+ the smiter hero.
Since you get 20K EXP for this quest I'd say it is well worth the investment.
