A/e Obsidian Shards farming guide

Sorry if this has already been posted but i did not see it anywhere so here goes:
[Obsidian shards a/e assassin;OwZToY/85R6zj0ZtTkxND31ABA]
Attributes:
16 shadow arts
12 fire magic
3 deadly arts
Weapon: Droknars fire staff i use or any req 9 fire magic staff with enchantments last 20% longer and +5 energy at least, i only have 51 energy.
Usage:
Ok enter FOW using 1k or a fissure of woe scroll, you will now see a group of elementals, a warrior, mesmer and a necromancer, here is how you kill these:
You need to wait for the patrol of 2 elementals then move around till the elementals+mesmer group tightly like so:
Then use your attack chain:
Frigid armor->glyph of lesser energy->burning speed[wait 5 seconds]->Burning speed[wait 5 seconds]->burning speed[wait 5 seconds]->burning
speed->glyph of swiftness->deadly paradox->shadow form->frigid armor->glyph of lesser energy->burning speed[wait 5 seconds]->burning speed(they should then be dead).
Next we head towards the beach which i am quite sure people know where is but if not it is this way:
Switch the groups so that they run your way let those 3 patrols get away then head towards the first group of snarling driftwoods and then take the following patrol with that first group of driftwoods as shown here:
Continue on through the beach killing the last 3 groups of snarling driftwoods(should be able to get all 3 groups in 1 pull).
Then you should head through the spider cave this way
Once through the spider cave head this way:
Head forwards from there and use burning speed till your safe near the first infernal wurm near the abyssals and then pull the following 3 groups:
You should then have 12 abyssals and about 6 mesmers on you, group up the mesmers and get next to them and use your attack chain again till they are dead.
Then head this way through the lava(doesn't burn you)
Aggro 2 groups of abyssals and mesmers-> 8 abyssals and 4 mesmers group them up and kill them with attack chain.
Then head this way
towards the bone skeletals.
Careful do not get next to the ice elemental skeletals as they will roflmaopwnedcheatshax you with their touching skill which goes through shadow form ouch! just get into a empty space and lure as many skeletal berserkers as possible, first group i have managed to get this many:
Kill them with your attack chain, by the way the monks will use infuse health on as many berserkers as monks their are say 4 infuse on 4 berserkers :P leave them alive and run towards the next groups kill the last 6-8 berserkers and your run is over.
Congratulations you have completed of the best shards runs for a permament-assassin best shards i have gotten was 12 shards but that was complete luck you usually range 1-10, i hope you have many fow runs and ty.

Seems to me like you could probably switch out death's charge for fire attunement or something else that could make this more effective. Also, what about the good old lava font/mark of trogdor? Are there a lot of hex removers in FoW? Because that could probably work as well as it used to in UW if there aren't. About how long does the run take with the build as is?

ok tomarrow sf gets buffed and there is better builds to use and are alot faster gg too late to show the world and burning for plains is gettign nerfed too so gg there too
and ways go with sliver you can clear all of plains in fow the caves and do 7 quest solo for shards

What's death charge for? I would switch it out for fire attune and drop shadow arts to 15 and put those attribs into water so you can spam more burning without burning to death and speed things up. I'd probably keep dark escape to speed up the run or take flame djinns haste.
Im guessing it takes around 45 minutes+ and the drops arent that great, 10 shards are ~ 20k. I've gotten 9e from a uw run post-nerf and it probably takes half the time but this is nice for a change of scenery, plains gets boring fast ~_~
nerfs tomorrow anyway... i wonder if it'l affect this build

If anything the SF Buff tomorrow will make farming in FoW alot better by giving you max damage of other skills without the 50% reduction, meaning you can use AoE damage spells such as Lava Font. Tomorrow they will be reverting the 50% reduction. A/E Sliver Farming will be back!! A/E sliver works fairly well in FoW, especially against Spiders. You can farm some groups of Shadow Army (groups that don't have more than 1 monk), farm the whole beach, farm most of the cave (since the last couple spiders will take long to kill), and whatever else you can find.

Oh i am sorry i did not hear about this sf buff i guess writing that guide was useless then doh! 1 run takes about 25-30 mins

Definitely a nice guide, it almost makes me want to pull out my sin and try perma SF again (I phail at it). Although, it seems that doing 600/smite nets more shard drops than this. I'll definitely give it a try though.

Is this faster than the deaths blossom farmer? i tend to get 3-6 shards per 40 mins in HM.

Yes its faster for me it only takes 25 minutes after practice and i got 8 shards last run.

everytime I aggro more than 3 driftwoods or abbysals or berserkers, they always scatter after I used burning speed a few times.
Is there anyway I can fix this?

Cause apart from that it's a real fun run They never run from me i have no idea whats going on erm it might be something else? are you using a different skills

NM hard mode is only for gold drops and sucks for the loss of aggro nm shards always same drop rate

Could someone explain why you need to kill the first group of patrol at the start? I don't understand why you can't just run all the way to the spot you need to go to farm shards.

Thanks! You dont need to kill them, but your farming shards and they drop them aswell. You can run past but less enemies = less shards.
Back on topic: This looks like a quality farm, nice job on guide bud. Gonna try that soon enough. Like how you laid out the way to go so well too, will be keeping an eye out to see if ya make anymore

pretty good guide! dont want to flame, but didnt you basically port the original planes build to just another area, with a speedboost (and rather pointless shadowstep) to boot?

Are you suppose to be killing the spiders too? When I try to they just out heal all my damage or I have to kill them one at a time which takes too long.

i farmed fow aaaages ago ( before i learnt how to make the real money - power trade ) i used fire attauntment and glowing gaze instead of dark escape and deaths charge tho

If you can get to a safe spot where you wont aggro anything, just let SF go down so you have 50ish health, then switch to a vamp weapon whenever you start getting regen pips.
